Description
H&R Adjustable 20mm Rear Sway Bar - 04-08 Acura TSX (CL9)
The TSX is a front-wheel-drive car with a lot of its weight over the nose, so like most FWD cars it wants to understeer, pushing wide when you lean on it in a corner. This H&R rear sway bar is the single most effective way to fix that. Adding roll stiffness at the rear shifts the car's balance so the back end helps rotate the car into the corner instead of just following the nose. The result is a TSX that turns in sharper, feels more neutral and connected, and stops plowing when you get aggressive, with less body roll overall.
Why a Rear Bar, and Why Adjustable
A sway bar works by resisting the difference in travel between the left and right wheels when the body rolls in a turn. Stiffen the rear and you add rear roll stiffness, which is exactly what dials out a FWD car's built-in understeer. This bar is adjustable, with multiple end-link positions so you decide how much you want: a softer setting keeps things mild and forgiving for daily and wet-weather driving, while a stiffer setting rotates the car harder for canyon runs and track days. You can tune the car's balance to your taste and conditions without buying a different bar, and it's a quick change in the driveway.
Built From 50CrV4 Spring Steel
The bar is formed from 50CrV4 chromium-vanadium spring steel, which is the real deal for a sway bar. It's got the tensile strength and fatigue resistance to handle repeated hard loading without taking a set or fatiguing over time, so the bar keeps delivering the same response years down the road. H&R forms each bar specifically for the application for a precise fit, finishes it with a heat-treat, shot-peen, and powder-coat process for durability and corrosion resistance, and builds it in Germany to ISO 9001 and TÜV standards.
Maintenance-Free Bushings
It rides on Urethane/Teflon composite bushings rather than soft rubber. That matters for two reasons: they hold the bar firmly so your input translates to a crisp, immediate response instead of the vague, delayed feel a worn rubber bushing gives, and the Teflon content means they're self-lubricating, so there's no greasing and no squeaking to deal with down the road.
Build a Matched Set
This rear bar is the piece that attacks understeer, and it works great on its own. If you want to stiffen the whole chassis and control roll at both ends, H&R also makes a matching front bar for the TSX, so you can run a balanced front-and-rear setup. Grab the H&R 28mm Front Sway Bar for the TSX for the full set. It also pairs naturally with lowering springs or coilovers if you're building out the suspension.
