Honda C/F/J Series Standard Thermostat - Genuine OEM (19301-P8E-A10)

Temp gauge climbing higher than it should, or stuck low and never quite warming up? Your thermostat might be the culprit, and this is the genuine Honda replacement to fix it. Part 19301-P8E-A10 is the standard factory-temperature thermostat that opens at around 87°C (183°F), the same temp Honda spec'd from the factory, so it gets your cooling system regulating the way it's supposed to again. It covers a big spread of Honda and Acura engines, from the S2000 and NSX to the whole J-series V6 family, so it's a common one to keep on the shelf.

What A Thermostat Does And How You Know It's Bad

Here's the job this little part handles. Your thermostat controls coolant flow based on engine temperature. When you first start up cold, it stays closed so the engine warms up quickly, and once you hit operating temp, it opens to let coolant flow to the radiator and keep things in the right range. When it fails, it goes one of two bad ways. Stick it closed and your engine overheats because coolant can't get to the radiator, which is the scary one, since overheating a Honda can warp a head or cook a gasket. Stick it open and the opposite happens: the engine runs too cold, never reaches operating temp, your heater blows lukewarm, your fuel economy drops, and you'll often trip a check engine light for coolant temp staying below where it should be. Either way, a fresh thermostat sorts it out.

Standard Factory Temperature, Not A Low-Temp Race Unit

Worth being clear on this so you get the right part: this is the standard-temperature thermostat that opens around 87°C (183°F), which is the factory spec. It's what you want for restoring proper, healthy operation on a stock or street-driven car, your engine reaching and holding its correct temp the way Honda intended. It's not a low-temp racing thermostat, those open earlier to keep temps down on boosted or hard-run setups and are a different part. For getting your cooling system back to right, this is the one.

A Smart Time To Replace It

Beyond fixing an obvious overheating or running-cold problem, this is a great part to knock out during other cooling work. If you're already in there doing a water pump, a timing belt on the V6, or a full coolant flush, drop a new thermostat in while everything's apart. It's cheap, it's a known weak point as these cars age, and replacing it preventively beats having an old one stick on you down the road and risk an overheat. Grab a new gasket or O-ring for it while you're at it so it seals up clean.

Note: Genuine Honda standard thermostat, part number 19301-P8E-A10, with a standard factory opening temperature of approximately 87°C (183°F). Fits the F20C and F22C (S2000), C30A and C32B (NSX), and J-series V6 engines. It regulates coolant flow to bring the engine up to operating temperature and hold it in the correct range; a failed thermostat can cause overheating if it sticks closed or running cold, poor fuel economy, and a check engine light if it sticks open. This is the standard-temperature unit for restoring factory operation, not a low-temperature racing thermostat. Fits the 1997-2003 Acura CL, 1991-1995 Acura Legend, 2001-2013 Acura MDX, 1991-2005 Acura NSX, 1996-2012 Acura RL, 1996-2014 Acura TL, 2010-2014 Acura TSX (V6), 2010-2013 Acura ZDX, 2002-2012 Honda Accord V6, 2010-2012 Honda Accord Crosstour, 2002-2017 Honda Odyssey, 2003-2015 Honda Pilot, 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline, and 2000-2009 Honda S2000. Note that the 2010-2014 TSX application is the V6; the 4-cylinder TSX uses a different thermostat. A new thermostat gasket or O-ring is recommended at install. Sold individually. One thermostat per order.
