PRODUCT DETAILS

Genuine Honda Lower Engine Cover Bolt (OHA-90105-TBA-A00)

If you're here, your under engine cover is probably in the back of your car, hanging by one corner, or gone entirely. It happens constantly on these cars. Road debris catches an edge, or the fasteners work loose over time and highway air finishes the job. Whatever took yours out, these are the specialty bolts that hold it back on properly, and they're worth using instead of whatever hardware store bolt happens to thread in.

You Need Four Of These

These are sold individually, and a complete cover installation uses four. Count before you check out, because ordering one and discovering you're three short is an annoying second trip.

And even if only one or two of yours went missing, it's worth replacing all four. They've all been through the same weather and the same vibration, and the reason the cover came off in the first place is usually that fasteners let go. Starting with a fresh set of four is how you avoid doing this again next year.

You Also Need Four Quarter-Turn Fasteners

Important, because these bolts alone won't finish the job. A complete cover installation uses four of these bolts plus four quarter-turn fasteners, eight fasteners total.

So take a look at your car before you order. If the cover came off violently, there's a good chance you're missing some of those too, and you'll want them in the same order rather than getting the bolts, crawling under the car, and finding you're still short.

Why The Specialty Bolt Matters

This is a countersunk Phillips head bolt, and the countersink is the whole point. It sits flush in the cover rather than proud of it, which matters on a panel whose job is smoothing airflow under the car. A bolt head sticking down into the airstream defeats part of what the cover is there for, and it's also one more thing for road debris to catch.

Using the correct bolt also means it seats and torques the way it should in the cover's mounting points. Given that fasteners letting go is the most common reason these covers disappear, starting with the right hardware is the cheapest insurance available.

Who Needs These

This is for anyone reinstalling an under engine cover, whether that's a new one or the original you rescued from the side of the road. It's a cheap part and the correct one, which on a fastener that's already failed once is exactly what you want. Count what you need, add your quarter-turn fasteners, and get your car put back together properly.
