Here's What Happens When They Fail

Note: The K24A2 and K24Z1 use an automatic tensioner so you don't have to manually adjust belt tension. Just route the belt around all the pulleys following the belt routing diagram on the radiator support, use a breaker bar to release the tensioner, slip the belt on, and let the tensioner take up the slack. After you've installed the belt, start the engine and make sure it's running quiet. If you're still hearing squealing, the belt might not be seated properly on one of the pulleys. Shut it off and check that the belt's centered on each pulley. After a few hundred miles, check the belt for proper tracking.
