PRODUCT DETAILS

Genuine Honda K-Series Upper Post Mount Bolt (90008-PPA-000)

Doing engine mounts or a swap and need the upper post mount bolt? This is the M10x85mm bolt that threads into the upper hole on your post mount. It's genuine zinc-plated Honda hardware, and it's what secures the top of the post mount to the engine. Whether you're fitting Hasport mounts, replacing tired factory ones, or building a swap, this is the correct bolt rather than whatever came closest in your hardware bin.

Don't Reuse Your Old Mount Bolts

Worth taking seriously, because this is the part people skip and it matters.

Engine mount bolts stretch and fatigue over time from constant vibration and engine movement. Yours have been torqued down for years, possibly decades depending on the car. Threads deform, and the bolt loses clamping force even though it looks fine.

What that means practically is that an old bolt won't torque to spec properly, and a mount that isn't clamped correctly can work loose. A loose engine mount lets the motor move considerably more than it should, which shows up as vibration and clunking over bumps. In the worst case the engine shifts enough to break exhaust mounts, damage axles, or contact the firewall.

You're already spending money on mounts. Fresh hardware is the cheapest part of the job and the one that determines whether the rest of it stays tight.

M10 x 85mm, Use The Right Length

This bolt is M10 x 85mm, sized specifically for the upper post mount hole.

Length matters more than people assume. Too short and you don't get enough thread engagement to clamp properly. Too long and it bottoms out before the mount is actually tight, which feels torqued but isn't. Either way you've got a mount that isn't secured the way it needs to be.

Worth noting the upper and lower post mount bolts are different lengths, so don't assume one substitutes for the other.

Genuine Honda Hardware

This is the factory part, not a generic bolt from a hardware store.

It's zinc plated to resist corrosion in an engine bay that sees heat and moisture constantly, the threads are cut to spec, and the bolt is heat treated to the correct hardness. Hardware store bolts vary enormously in quality, and a soft one will strip or stretch when you torque it, which is exactly the failure you're trying to avoid.

On a fastener holding your engine to the car, saving a few dollars isn't a trade worth making.
