Honda K/L/R Series Fuel Injector Clip - 16451-PLC-000
Got a fuel injector that won't stay seated in your fuel rail? Your fuel injector clip's probably broken. The Honda K/L/R series fuel injector clip (part number 16451-PLC-000) holds your fuel injector in place on your fuel rail. The clip snaps onto the fuel rail and it locks your injector in so it can't pop out. When the clip breaks, your fuel injector can work itself loose from vibration and you'll get a fuel leak at the injector. If you're doing injector service, upgrading injectors, or your fuel injector's loose, you need new clips. These clips are sold individually. Most applications need 4 pieces total.
Here's What This Clip Does
Your fuel injector sits in the fuel rail and it's got an O-ring that seals it. The fuel injector clip snaps onto the fuel rail over the top of the injector and it locks the injector down so it can't pop out. Without the clip, the injector can work itself loose from engine vibration. When the injector's loose, the O-ring doesn't seal right and you get a fuel leak. You'll smell gas and you might see fuel dripping from the fuel rail area. The clip's cheap and it takes two seconds to snap on. Don't run your car with missing or broken injector clips.
Replace Them When You're Doing Injector Work
Whenever you're pulling your fuel rail off to clean or replace your injectors, take a look at your injector clips. If they're bent or broken, replace them. The clips are thin metal and they can bend or break from heat cycles and corrosion. When you try to remove an old clip, it might snap in half. Order a few extra clips when you're doing injector work so you've got spares if you break one while you're pulling them off.
