Honda J35Y8 72mm Drive-By-Wire Throttle Body (16400-6FB-A01)
On paper, an OEM throttle body from a 2023+ Pilot doesn't sound exciting. In practice, it solves a real headache for K-swappers running drive-by-wire. The usual go-to, the Bosch DBW throttle body, is often out of stock and hard to get, which stalls builds waiting on a back-ordered part. This genuine Honda J35Y8 throttle body is the available alternative: a quality 72mm smooth-bore DBW unit that's readily in stock, flows well, and works on a K-swap manifold with the right adapter. When the Bosch isn't available, this keeps your build moving.
Why This Matters: Availability
Drive-by-wire K-swaps need a DBW throttle body, and the options have been limited. The Bosch unit is the common choice and it's typically the cheaper one, but it's frequently out of stock and can be hard to source when you need it, which is exactly the wrong time to be waiting on a part with the rest of the swap ready to go.
This Honda throttle body is the alternative that's actually available. It's a genuine OEM part from the Pilot and Passport, so it's well-made and in steady supply, which means you can get a quality DBW throttle body now rather than watching for the Bosch to come back in stock. For a builder who just needs the part to finish the swap, availability beats a lower price that's perpetually out of stock.
72mm Smooth Bore, Works With Our Cold Air Intake
The bore is sized and shaped to flow and to integrate cleanly.
It's a 72mm inlet tapering to a 70mm outlet, with a smooth bore, no steps or obstructions in the path. That smooth bore is what lets it work seamlessly with the Hybrid Racing K-Swap Cold Air Intake, the intake and throttle body mate cleanly for an unrestricted path into the manifold. If you're already running (or planning) our cold air intake on your swap, this throttle body is a direct, clean match on the inlet side.
No MAP Sensor On The Body, Which Is What You Want
A detail that's genuinely useful for a K-swap.
This throttle body doesn't have a MAP sensor mounted on it, and on a K-swap, that's an advantage, not a drawback. It means you can run your MAP sensor on the intake manifold where a K-swap typically wants it, rather than having a sensor location on the throttle body you'd have to work around. The throttle body stays simple, and your MAP sensor goes where it belongs for your setup.
You'll Need The Throttle Body Adapter
Important for mounting it to a K-swap manifold.
This throttle body is from a J-series application, so to bolt it to a K-swap intake manifold you need the Hybrid Racing Throttle Body Adapter (HYB-TBA-01-02). The adapter mates the J35Y8 throttle body's bolt pattern and flange to your K-series manifold, so plan to order it alongside this throttle body, it's what makes the J-series throttle body work on a K-swap. Without the adapter, it won't mount to your manifold.
This is for the K-swap builder running drive-by-wire who needs a quality DBW throttle body and doesn't want to wait on the perpetually-out-of-stock Bosch. It's a genuine Honda 72mm smooth-bore unit that's actually available, flows well, matches our cold air intake, and keeps the MAP sensor off the body so it can live on the manifold where a K-swap wants it. Grab the throttle body adapter to mount it to your manifold, pair it with our cold air intake for a clean inlet, and get a DBW setup sorted without the wait. When the Bosch isn't in stock, this is the one that keeps your build moving.
Part number: 16400-6FB-A01 (Honda J35Y8). Original application: 2023-2026 Honda Pilot, 2026+ Honda Passport. Use: drive-by-wire throttle body for K-swaps, an in-stock alternative to the Bosch.
