The Honda S2000 intake manifold gasket (part number 17105-PCX-004) seals your intake manifold to your cylinder head. Here's What Happens When Your Intake Manifold Gasket Leaks

Your intake manifold gasket seals the connection between your intake manifold and your cylinder head. The gasket sits between the manifold flange and the cylinder head's intake ports. When the gasket fails, unmetered air gets sucked into your cylinders past the gasket. Your ECU doesn't know about this extra air, so your air/fuel ratio goes lean. You'll get high idle (1500-2000 RPM instead of 800 RPM), rough idle, hesitation when you're accelerating, and your check engine light might come on. A vacuum leak at the intake manifold's annoying and it makes your S2000 run like crap. Just replace the gasket.

Replace It Every Time You Remove Your Intake Manifold

Any time you're pulling your intake manifold off for throttle body work, port and polish, fuel injector service, or any other work, replace this gasket. If you reuse an old gasket that's already been crushed and heat-cycled, it's not going to seal properly when you bolt your intake manifold back on. You'll have a vacuum leak and you'll be pulling your intake manifold off again to replace the gasket you should've replaced the first time. Don't do that to yourself.
