Honda OEM Input Shaft Seal - F/J/K Series Manual Transmissions
Leaking transmission fluid at the bellhousing where the input shaft goes into the clutch case? That's your input shaft seal. This is the genuine Honda replacement seal for F, J, and K series manual transmissions. It sits in the clutch case right before the input shaft bearing and keeps fluid from seeping out where the input shaft passes through. If you're already pulling the transmission for a clutch job or rebuild, this seal costs a few bucks and takes two minutes to replace while you've got everything apart. Don't skip it. Part number 91216-PG1-005.
Replace It While You're Already In There
A leaking input shaft seal drips transmission fluid onto your clutch disc and flywheel. Once your clutch is contaminated with fluid, it'll slip and glaze, which means you're pulling the transmission again for a clutch job you just did. The seal is cheap and it's easy to get to when the trans is out of the car. If there's any doubt about its condition, just replace it and move on.
If you are replacing the seal on a K Series, consider changing out the input shaft bearing too. The 91001-PPP-005 is the compatible part number for mot Honda/Acura K Series transmissions.
