Genuine Honda Rear "Civic" Emblem (75765-S04-000) - 1996-2000 Civic
The "Civic" script on the back of your EK is factory chrome on plastic, and after twenty-five years it's usually clouded, peeling, or gone. This is the genuine Honda replacement, and it ships with double-sided tape already applied, so it's ready to clean, position, and stick. Fits the coupe, sedan, and hatchback, including the EM1 Si.
Tape Is Pre-Applied
Worth knowing, because it makes this about as easy as an exterior part gets.
The double-sided adhesive comes already on the back of the emblem. You're not cutting tape, applying it, or lining anything up separately. Peel the backing, position, and press.
That said, the tape is only as good as the surface you stick it to, which is where the actual work is.
Clean The Surface First
The one thing that determines whether this stays on.
An adhesive bond is only as strong as what it's bonding to, and a rear panel that's carried an emblem for twenty-five years has wax, residue, and road film where the old one sat. Stick a new emblem onto that and it'll lift at a corner within weeks.
Remove the old emblem and its adhesive completely, then clean the area with isopropyl alcohol so you're bonding to paint rather than to whatever was left behind. Work somewhere warm, since adhesive grips considerably better above about 60 degrees, and dry fit to check your alignment before you peel the backing. You get one placement with double-sided tape.
Why Yours Is Worn
Nothing fails mechanically on an emblem. It just weathers.
Chrome on plastic clouds and pits over years of sun and car washes, and the adhesive eventually gives up and lets a corner lift. On a clean EK, that faded or peeling script is exactly the kind of detail that spoils an otherwise tidy rear end.

The EM1 Civic Si is one of the main reasons people go looking for this emblem. Those cars are increasingly cared for and put back to factory correct, and a faded "Civic" script is one of the small things owners fix. But it fits every EK body style, so whatever you've got, this is the part.
Do The H Emblem Too
If you're refreshing the back of the car, the "Civic" script isn't the only badge that's aged.
The chrome rear H emblem clouds and pits on the same schedule, and doing both at once is how you get a rear end that looks properly finished rather than half-refreshed. One faded badge next to a fresh one just draws attention to the old one.
Worth noting the H emblem is coupe only, so if you're in a sedan or hatchback it won't apply, but coupe and EM1 Si owners can do both together.

An emblem is pure appearance, which means getting it right is the whole job. The factory piece has the correct chrome finish, the correct font, and the correct dimensions, where aftermarket copies are often subtly off in a way you'll notice every time you walk up to the car.
