Honda D17A1/D17A2 Water Pump - Genuine OEM (19200-PLM-A01)
Chasing an overheat, spotting a coolant drip, or just in there doing the timing belt on your Civic? This is the genuine Honda water pump for the D17, part 19200-PLM-A01. It's the part that keeps coolant moving through your engine, and on these motors it's driven by the timing belt, which means there's a smart way and a hard way to replace it. Do it right and you only pay for the labor once.
What It Does And When To Replace It
Here's the rundown. Your water pump circulates coolant through the engine and radiator so things stay at the right temperature, and like anything with a spinning bearing and a seal, it wears out. When it starts going, you'll usually get one of a few warnings: a coolant leak weeping from the pump, a whine or growl from the bearing, or your temp gauge creeping up where it shouldn't. Ignore it and a failed pump means an overheated engine, and that's a much bigger bill than a water pump. Catch it and swap it, and you're back to running cool.
Do It With The Timing Belt, Every Time
This is the part that saves you real money, so pay attention here. On the D17, your water pump is driven by the timing belt, which means to get at the pump, you're pulling the timing cover and belt off anyway, that's the bulk of the labor right there. So the rule is simple: any time you do the timing belt, do the water pump too, and any time you're replacing the pump, put a fresh belt on while you're at it. Skip it and do the pump later, and you're tearing right back into that timing belt job a second time for no reason. Nobody wants to do that twice. While you're in there, it's also the perfect time to knock out the timing belt tensioner and your cam and crank seals, since you've already done the hard part to reach them.
Genuine Honda, No Guessing
This is the real Honda pump, made for the D17, so it seals and fits right and moves coolant exactly the way it's supposed to. On a cooling part where a leak or a bad seal can cook your motor, that's not the place to gamble on a bargain-bin substitute. It's the same pump Honda built the car with.

Note: Genuine Honda water pump, part number 19200-PLM-A01, for the D17A1 and D17A2 engines. The water pump circulates coolant through the engine and radiator to maintain proper operating temperature; a worn pump can leak, develop bearing noise, or fail and cause overheating. On the D17 the water pump is driven by the timing belt, so it should be replaced together with the timing belt to avoid repeating that labor, and it's a good time to also replace the timing belt tensioner and cam and crank seals. Fits the 2001-2005 Honda Civic DX, EX, and LX. Direct OEM replacement, sold individually. One water pump per order.
