Honda OEM Water Pump - D16Z6 Engine
Water pump leaking or making noise on your D16Z6 Civic or Del Sol? This is the genuine Honda water pump for the D16Z6 VTEC engine. When a water pump fails, it either starts leaking coolant from the weep hole or the bearing goes bad and you hear grinding or squealing from the front of the engine. If you catch it early and replace the pump, you're fine. If you ignore it, the bearing seizes or the pump leaks all your coolant and you overheat the engine. Part number 19200-P08-004.
Replace It During Timing Belt Service
Water pumps are a maintenance item. The bearing wears out over time and the seal eventually starts weeping coolant. If you're doing a timing belt service, the water pump's right there behind the timing cover and it only adds about 15 minutes to the job. Replacing it while you've got the timing belt off means you won't be pulling everything apart again in six months when the pump starts leaking.
