PRODUCT DETAILS

Genuine Honda Power Steering Pump Cover Seal (91349-R70-P01)

If you've got power steering fluid showing up around the pump on your Integra, EK Civic, or Prelude, this little O-ring is very often the culprit. It seals the cover on the back of the power steering pump, and after twenty-plus years of heat cycling it hardens, shrinks, and starts weeping. It's a few dollars, it takes minutes to replace, and it saves a lot of people from assuming they need a whole pump.

Before You Replace The Whole Pump

This is the useful part. When people find fluid around the power steering pump on a golden era Honda, the assumption is usually that the pump is done. Sometimes it is. But a surprising amount of the time it's this seal, and swapping a hardened O-ring is a very different afternoon than replacing a pump.

Worth checking before you spend real money. Clean the area thoroughly, run the car, turn the wheel lock to lock a few times, and see where the fluid actually appears. If it's seeping from the seam where the cover meets the pump body, this seal is your fix. If it's coming from the shaft seal or the pump is whining, that's a different problem.

Given what it costs, plenty of people just replace it as a matter of course whenever they have the pump off for any reason.

Why These Fail

Nothing exotic. It's rubber sitting against a hot engine, cycling through heat every drive for two decades. Rubber hardens as it ages, loses its ability to compress and seal, and eventually leaves a path for fluid. On a car from the late 90s or early 2000s, the original seal has done its time.

It's the same story as every other rubber seal on these cars, and the same logic applies: it's cheap, it's a known wear item, and it's a lot easier to replace on your schedule than after you've been topping off fluid for six months.

Note The Part Number Change

If you've looked this up before, you may have found it as 91349-P2A-003. Honda has superseded that with 91349-R70-P01, which is what ships here. Same application, current number, so if your service records or an old forum thread lists the P2A part, this is what replaces it.

Do It Properly

A few minutes of care makes the difference. Clean the sealing surfaces on both the cover and the pump body before assembly, since old residue or grit will keep a new seal from sitting flat. Seat the seal fully in its groove rather than pinching it during reassembly. And check your fluid level afterward, then check it again after a few drives to confirm the leak is genuinely gone.

Fits A Wide Range Of Honda And Acura

This seal covers B, D, F, H, and J series applications across a long stretch of the lineup:

Who Should Grab One

This is for anyone chasing a power steering leak on a DC Integra, EK Civic, BB Prelude, or any of the cars above, and for anyone with the pump off for other work who'd rather not put a twenty-year-old seal back in. It costs almost nothing and it's the difference between a fixed leak and a mystery you keep topping off. Grab one, clean the surfaces, seat it properly, and move on.

Fits: Honda B, D, F, H, and J series power steering pumps, see the application list above. Part number: 91349-R70-P01 (supersedes 91349-P2A-003). Type: genuine Honda power steering pump cover seal. Sold: individually.
