PRODUCT DETAILS

Honda Civic Air Filter K&N Hybrid 25-26

The 2025-2026 Civic Hybrid 2.0 uses a paper engine air filter in the factory airbox. When that filter is dirty, this Honda Civic air filter is the washable panel that drops in the same box. The panel is 8.25 x 5.625 x 1.5 in. A 1.5T Civic, a non-hybrid Civic 2.0, and a Type R each use a different box, so the wrong SKU will not seat.

K&N catalogs this as a High-Flow Original Lifetime panel. It is a washable, oiled cotton-gauze filter that replaces Honda 17220-6MA-J01 in the stock airbox. No intake kit. No cutting.

What It Is and Why It Works

The trade here is paper against oiled cotton, and it is worth being honest about both sides. Honda paper filters fine, and it gets binned every service. This is four layers of oiled cotton gauze that get washed and kept for as long as the car is owned. What you give up is the oil-free part. Over-oil a cotton filter and oil film can reach a hot-wire MAF, and then the car is chasing a driveability problem the filter caused. K&N puts the re-oil amount at 0.71 oz for this panel. Use that amount and keep oil off the gasket face.

Construction is a drop-in panel for the factory airbox. K&N lists the official product title as HONDA CR-V L4-2.0L F/I. That is the same panel the Civic Hybrid year pages assign. The filter ships pre-oiled. K&N backs stock replacement filters with a No-Hassle Lifetime Limited Warranty. Limitations apply.

This is not the Civic 1.5T panel (33-5120). It is not the non-hybrid Civic 2.0 panel (33-5045). It is not the Type R or Integra 2.0 panel (33-5139). Those are different boxes.

Factory engine airbox, Civic Hybrid 2.0 first, and it is not a cabin filter. Official knfilters.com Civic 2.0L 2025 and 2026 pages list 33-5145 as w/Hybrid only. It does not fit Civic 1.5T (33-5120, 7.438 in wide). It does not fit a non-hybrid Civic 2.0 (33-5045, 7.219 in wide). It does not fit Civic Type R or Integra 2.0 (33-5139, 11.125 x 7.188 in). Integra 1.5 is 33-5120. Official Civic 2.0L 2023 and 2024 pages list 33-5045 only. Accord 1.5T and CR-V 1.5T are 33-5120. If the car already has a K&N intake kit, that kit uses its own filter, not this panel. If you are not sure what you are holding, measure it: 8.25 by 5.625 inches and 1.5 inches tall is this one. Wider and about 7.2 inches is the non-hybrid Civic 2.0. Wider and about 7.4 inches is the 1.5T. Much longer at 11.125 inches is the Type R.

What to Know Before You Buy

Confirm the powertrain before the airbox comes open. If the valve cover or window sticker is 1.5T, this is 33-5120. If it is a non-hybrid Civic 2.0, this is 33-5045. If it is a Type R or Integra 2.0, this is 33-5139. 33-5145 is the Civic Hybrid 2.0 panel, plus the official 2.0 Accord, CR-V, and 2026 Prelude rows above.

K&N says a stock replacement filter only needs cleaning about every 75,000 miles under normal highway driving. It still has to be washed and re-oiled. Use 0.71 oz of K&N oil, not a random spray. A dry or over-oiled gauze filter is how oil film ends up on the MAF. Wash it, let it dry all the way, oil it lightly, done.

This is a drop-in for the factory airbox. It will not add the power of a 63-series intake. If that kit is the goal, buy the kit. If the goal is to stop throwing Honda 17220-6MA-J01 paper filters in the trash on a 2025-2026 Civic Hybrid, this is the part.
