Honda C30A/C32B Rear Main Seal - Genuine OEM (91214-PL2-003)

What It Does And Why You Don't Skip It
Here's the deal with this seal. It rides around the back of your crankshaft, right where the crank exits the block to meet the flywheel, and its whole job is keeping engine oil from sneaking out back there. Over the years that seal goes hard and brittle, and once it does, it starts weeping oil, that's the puddle you're finding under the bellhousing. Now here's the part that really matters: this seal is buried behind the flywheel, so the only way to get at it is with the transmission and clutch already out of the car. So if you've got the trans out for any reason, a clutch, a flywheel, whatever, this is the moment to replace the rear main seal. Skip it now and a leak later means pulling that whole transmission back out again just for a couple-dollar seal. Nobody wants to do that job twice.
