Honda B18C5/F20C/F22C Throttle Body Gasket - 16176-P73-004
Got a vacuum leak at your throttle body? Your throttle body gasket's probably torn or crushed. The Honda throttle body gasket (part number 16176-P73-004) seals your throttle body to your intake manifold. When the gasket gets old and hard, it doesn't seal properly and you get a vacuum leak. Your car idles high, runs rough, and your check engine light might come on. Replace your throttle body gasket any time you remove your throttle body for cleaning or intake manifold work. Don't reuse old gaskets. They're always crushed and they won't seal when you reinstall your throttle body.
Here's What Happens When Your Throttle Body Gasket Leaks
Your throttle body gasket seals the connection between your throttle body and your intake manifold. When the gasket leaks, unmetered air gets sucked into your intake manifold past the throttle body. Your ECU doesn't know about this extra air, so your air/fuel ratio goes lean. You'll get high idle (1500-2000 RPM instead of 800 RPM), rough idle, hesitation when you're accelerating, and your check engine light might come on with lean codes. A vacuum leak at the throttle body's annoying and it makes your car run like crap. Just replace the gasket.
Replace It Any Time You Remove Your Throttle Body
Any time you're pulling your throttle body off for throttle body cleaning, intake manifold gasket replacement, or any other work, replace this gasket. It's like three bucks. If you reuse an old gasket that's already been crushed, it's not going to seal properly when you bolt your throttle body back on. You'll have a vacuum leak and you'll be pulling your throttle body off again to replace the gasket you should've replaced the first time. Don't do that to yourself.
Drive-By-Cable Throttle Body Only
This gasket fits drive-by-cable throttle bodies on the B18C5 Integra Type R and F20C/F22C S2000. It doesn't fit drive-by-wire (electronic) throttle bodies. If you've got a 2006-2009 S2000, you've got drive-by-wire and you need a different gasket. If you've got a 2000-2005 S2000 or a 1997-2001 Integra Type R, you've got drive-by-cable and this is the right gasket.

Note: This gasket only fits drive-by-cable throttle bodies. It doesn't fit 2006-2009 S2000 with drive-by-wire throttle bodies. Replace this gasket every time you remove your throttle body. Don't reuse old gaskets. They're crushed and they won't seal properly. Clean the gasket surfaces on your throttle body and intake manifold before you install the new gasket. If there's old gasket material stuck on the surfaces, scrape it off. Don't use sealant or RTV on this gasket. The gasket seals by itself when you torque the throttle body bolts down.
