If your dipstick's bent, the markings are worn off, or you're doing an engine swap and your dipstick's the wrong length, you need this. A dipstick that's the wrong length or bent wrong gives you bad oil level readings, which means you're either overfilling your engine or running it low on oil. Both are bad. Why Your Dipstick Needs to Be the Right One
Your dipstick's not just a stick. It's got to be the correct length to reach the bottom of your oil pan, and the bend's got to match your engine so it sits in the dipstick tube properly. If your dipstick's too short, it'll read low even when your oil's full. If it's too long or bent wrong, it'll read high and you'll overfill your oil. Running your engine low on oil starves your bearings and cams. Overfilling your oil causes foaming, which kills oil pressure and your engine eats itself. The factory dipstick's the right length and bend for your B series, so you get accurate oil level readings every time you check.
Factory Length, Factory Markings
This dipstick's got the factory oil level markings for B series engines. You pull it out, wipe it off, stick it back in, pull it out again, and you can see exactly where your oil level's sitting. The markings show you the safe operating range. If your oil's between the marks, you're good. If it's below the low mark, you need to add oil. If it's above the high mark, you overfilled and you need to drain some out.

Note: This is just the dipstick. If you need a dipstick tube, order part number 11111-PR3-300 separately. Check your oil level on flat ground with your engine off and cooled down for at least five minutes. Pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, stick it back in all the way, then pull it out and read the level. If you check your oil right after shutting the engine off, the reading's going to be wrong because oil's still draining back into the pan. Don't overfill your oil. If your oil level's above the high mark, drain some out. Overfilled oil causes foaming and kills your oil pressure.
