HKS Silent Hi-Power Cat-Back Exhaust - 2004-2008 Acura TSX
The CL9 TSX is a genuinely good car that Honda wrapped in one of the quietest exhausts they've ever fitted. The K24 has a voice and the factory system does everything it can to hide it. This HKS Silent Hi-Power replaces it from the cat back, opening up flow with a 60mm center pipe while keeping the volume civilized enough to daily.
Silent Hi-Power Means Exactly That
HKS makes two versions of this exhaust and the choice matters.
The standard Hi-Power is loud. That's its whole identity, and plenty of people want it.
The Silent Hi-Power gives you the same flow benefits with a Type-H round silencer that keeps cabin noise down. On a TSX, which is a refined car by design, that's usually the right call. You get a better sound and a freer exhaust without turning a comfortable sedan into something that drones on the highway.
If your TSX is still a daily driver or a long-commute car, this is the version to buy.
60mm Center Pipe
Sized for the K24 rather than being the biggest pipe that fits.
Exhaust gas needs velocity as well as volume. Oversize the piping on a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated engine and you lose the scavenging that helps pull spent gases out, which costs you midrange for a peak number you'll rarely use.
60mm flows considerably better than the restrictive factory system while keeping velocity where the K24 lives. HKS sizes these per application for exactly that reason.
SUS304 Stainless Throughout
The whole system is SUS304 stainless steel, which is the practical reason these last.
Stainless resists rust far better than mild steel, so this isn't an exhaust that rots out after a few winters of road salt. On a TSX that's now fifteen to twenty years old, a system fitted today will almost certainly outlast the rest of the car.
The silver finish keeps it looking right underneath rather than going dull and rusty the way the factory system eventually does.
What To Expect
Honest framing, since a cat-back on a naturally aspirated engine isn't a power modification.
You'll notice the sound immediately and the throttle response slightly. What you won't notice is a dramatic power increase, because you're replacing the last section of exhaust on a 2.4 liter that Honda already engineered reasonably well.
Where it earns its keep is in tone, in construction that outlasts the factory system, and in having capacity available if you add a header or intake later. If you want the TSX to sound like the K24 it has rather than like a rental car, that's exactly what this does.

This is for the TSX owner who likes the car's refinement and just wishes it sounded like something. HKS quality, stainless construction, and a tone that suits a sedan you actually drive rather than one you're trying to make obnoxious. Bolt it on and enjoy hearing the engine for the first time.
