HKS Hi-Power Axle-Back Exhaust (32003-BH005) - 2007-2008 Honda Fit

The GD Fit is a light, willing little car that Honda sold with a deliberately quiet exhaust. This is the HKS answer to that. It's an axle-back Hi-Power system, meaning it replaces the rear section with a race-derived offset muffler and a straighter path out, and it gives the car a tone that actually matches how it's driven.

Axle-Back Means An Easy Install

Worth knowing what you're getting into, because this is about as simple as exhaust work gets.

An axle-back replaces only the rear section, from the rear axle back. You're not dropping a midpipe, not touching anything near the catalytic converter, and not fighting the front of the car. It's basic hand tools in a driveway rather than a shop job.

That also means it's the most affordable way into a genuine HKS exhaust, which on a car like the Fit matters. Not everyone wants to spend more on an exhaust than the rest of the build.

Sized For A 1.5, Not For Show

The system runs 50.8mm piping into a roughly 94mm tip, and that sizing is deliberate rather than incidental.

Bigger isn't automatically better on exhaust. Oversize the piping on a small naturally aspirated engine and you lose exhaust gas velocity, which costs you the scavenging that pulls spent gas out of the cylinder. What you'd end up with is a Fit that sounds hollow and feels worse in the midrange, which is the only part of the rev range you actually use in a car like this.

50.8mm keeps velocity where the L15 lives while still flowing better than the restrictive factory section. It's the right size for the engine rather than the biggest pipe someone could fit under the bumper.

Straight Path, Fewer Bends

The Hi-Power design philosophy comes from HKS's endurance and GT racing work in Japan, and it's straightforward: minimize restrictions and give exhaust the most direct route out.

Every bend slows gas down and creates turbulence, and turbulent flow moves through a pipe worse than smooth flow does. The offset muffler and piping layout here are designed to reduce that. On a small naturally aspirated engine, where there isn't much exhaust energy to spare, removing restriction is worth more than it sounds.

Honest Expectations

Being straight about what an axle-back does on a stock Fit. This isn't going to transform the car's power output, because you're replacing the last section of the exhaust on a 1.5 liter engine.

What it gives you is a genuinely better sounding car, a quality stainless system that won't rust out, and a freer rear section that becomes more useful as you add other modifications. If your Fit is stock and you want it to sound like something, that's exactly what this delivers and it's a fair reason to buy.

SUS304 Stainless

Both the muffler and tip are SUS304 stainless steel, which resists rust far better than mild steel and keeps its finish rather than dulling out.

On a car now approaching twenty years old, that's a practical consideration rather than a marketing point. A stainless system fitted today will outlast the factory exhaust it's replacing by a wide margin.

This is for the GD Fit owner who wants the car to sound like the fun little thing it is, and who'd rather have a real HKS system than a generic muffler. Easy install, stainless construction, and a tone from a company that's been building these since before your car existed. Bolt it on and enjoy it.
