Goodridge G-Stop Stainless Brake Line Kit - 2000-2009 Honda S2000 (AP1/AP2)
The S2000 is a genuine sports car, one people track and drive hard, and on a car braked that aggressively, the factory rubber brake lines are the weak link. A few hard laps in, the rubber lines heat up and expand under pressure, so part of your pedal effort balloons the lines instead of clamping the brakes, and the pedal goes soft right when you're braking hardest into a corner. These Goodridge braided stainless lines fix that: a PTFE inner line in a stainless steel braid that doesn't expand, so the pedal stays firm and consistent lap after lap. On a tracked S2000, it's one of the most worthwhile brake upgrades you can make, and it comes in versions for the AP1 and AP2.
Pick Your Variant: AP1 Or AP2
Match the version to your car, because the earlier and later S2000s take different lines.
AP1 (2000-2005) is the version for the early S2000.
AP2 (2006-2009) is for the later cars, including the CR.
Order the version that matches your year, the 2000-2005 AP1 or the 2006-2009 AP2. They're not interchangeable, so confirm your year before ordering.
Why Braided Lines Firm Up The Pedal
Here's what's actually happening, and what these do and don't change.
Rubber brake lines flex and expand under the pressure of hard braking, and that expansion is what you feel as a soft, spongy pedal, part of your foot pressure is stretching the lines instead of applying the brakes. It gets worse the harder and more repeatedly you brake and the hotter everything gets, which is exactly what happens on a track day in a car like this.
The stainless braid around these Goodridge lines doesn't expand the way rubber does, so all your pedal pressure goes straight to the calipers. The result is a firmer, more responsive pedal with a consistent, linear feel that holds up under hard, repeated braking where rubber lines go soft. To be clear about what braided lines do: they improve pedal feel and consistency, they're not a substitute for better pads, rotors, or tires if you're chasing shorter stopping distances, but for how the brakes feel and respond, especially a pedal that stays firm through a session, the difference is immediate and genuine. On a car as braking-sensitive and track-focused as the S2000, a firm, predictable pedal is real confidence at corner entry.
PTFE Core, Stainless Braid
The construction is what makes them firm and durable.
Each line is a PTFE inner line (which handles brake fluid and heat without degrading) inside a stainless steel overbraid that provides the firmness and protects the line from abrasion and corrosion. Stainless braided lines hold up far better over time than rubber, which cracks and degrades with age, and they look the part under the car too.
Goodridge is the name in braided brake lines, developed for motorsport, and these go through a nine-point quality-assurance process, each line tested for tensile strength and pressure-rated to 3,000 psi. They meet FMVSS 106 (the federal brake-hose safety standard), are DOT compliant, and are TÜV approved, so they're properly certified, not just a cosmetic braided line.
Complete Kit, Direct Bolt-On
Everything for the install is in the box.
This is a complete set of lines covering both front and rear, with the hardware to fit them, so there's nothing else to source. The hose ends and brackets are made to match your factory design, so it's a direct bolt-on replacement for the rubber lines, using your factory calipers with no modification. It's a straightforward swap, you're replacing the lines one for one and bleeding the system.
They're ABS-compatible, and on ABS-equipped cars they also help reduce the pedal chatter you can feel through soft rubber lines.
Fitment
2000-2005 Honda S2000 (AP1)
2006-2009 Honda S2000 (AP2, including CR)
Select the version matching your year. Complete kit, front and rear, with hardware. Direct fit, works with factory calipers.
This is for the S2000 owner who tracks or hard-drives the car and wants a brake pedal that stays firm and consistent instead of going soft a few laps into a session. PTFE-core stainless braided lines that don't balloon like rubber, a complete front-and-rear kit, motorsport-grade certification, and durable construction, in the right version for your AP1 or AP2. It won't shorten your stopping distances on its own, but it keeps the pedal firm and predictable when you're braking hard into every corner, which is exactly what this car asks for. Pick the version for your year, bolt them on, bleed the brakes, and feel the difference on your next hard stop.
