Golden Era Parts Exterior Sunroof Seal - 1988-1991 Honda CRX
Got a sunroof CRX and a seal that's seen better decades? You're not alone, and you're not going to find a good one at the dealer either. Honda stopped making this seal a long time ago, so if yours is cracked, shrunk, or just gone, you've been stuck either hunting for a worn-out original or living with the leak. Golden Era Parts built this one to fix that. They modeled it straight off genuine Honda parts, so it sits, seals, and looks like the piece your CRX rolled off the line with, not some generic strip that's close enough and calls it a day.
Here's Why This Little Seal Matters
It's just a strip of rubber, but it's doing a lot of work. Once it dries out and shrinks, water starts finding its way past it, and that's how you end up with a damp headliner, water tracking down your A or B pillar, or a leak you can't track down no matter how many times you hose the roof down. If you're already seeing water inside the car, the seal's not just worn, it's done. Get a new one on there before that happens and you're protecting your headliner, your wiring, and your sunroof motor from years of slow water damage you won't notice until it's a real problem.
Built From The Real Thing
Golden Era Parts didn't eyeball this one, they built it off actual OEM parts, so it replicates Honda part 70205-SH2-003, the sliding roof seal itself, plus the 90303-GH8-000 nut flange and 93500-05008-0G pan head screws for the retaining brackets. You're getting one exterior sunroof molding and new stainless hardware for all four brackets. Heads up though, this doesn't come with the metal brackets themselves, just the seal and the stainless hardware that bolts it to the brackets you've already got. And this is the latest version, it drops the front cutout from earlier runs and picks up a few small fitment tweaks, so it's about as close to factory as it gets.
Make Sure This Is Your CRX
One thing to nail down before you order: this is for the 1988-1991 CRX with the steel sliding sunroof, full stop. It won't fit the glasstop CRX, and it won't fit the EF Civic hatchback either, even though those cars share a lot with the CRX. If you're not sure which roof you've got, check before you buy, because these seals aren't interchangeable and you don't want to be sending one back.
