Four Seasons K20 Air Conditioning Compressor - RSX, EP3 Si & K-Swaps

Air conditioning is one of the first things people give up on a K-swap, usually because sorting the compressor is a hassle. This Four Seasons unit makes it straightforward. It's the compressor for the DC5 RSX and EP3 Civic Si, which means it's also the compressor for your K-swap, since it bolts to the K20 you swapped in. Keep your AC on an EG, EK, or DC instead of deleting it.

The K-Swap AC Solution

This is why the part matters beyond a standard replacement.

When you K-swap an older Honda, the AC compressor mounts to the engine, not the chassis. That means the compressor you need is the one for the K20, not the one your EG, EK, or DC came with. This is that compressor, the K20A2/K20A3 unit from the RSX and EP3.

Bolt it to your swapped K20 and you've got a compressor that mounts correctly and drives off the engine the way it's supposed to. From there, connecting it to your chassis AC is a matter of the right lines, which is a solvable problem rather than the dead end that makes people delete AC entirely.

If you've got the compressor sorted, keeping cold air in a swapped car is realistic. This is the starting point.

You'll Need The Line Kit To Complete It

Being clear, since the compressor is one piece of making AC work on a swap.

Connecting a K20 compressor to an older chassis's AC system takes the right lines to bridge the swapped engine to your factory condenser and evaporator. Our Hybrid Racing K-Series Swap AC Line Kit covers that side, letting you retain AC when you drop a K-series into an EG Civic or Del Sol.

The important compatibility note: that line kit is designed around exactly this compressor family, K20A, A2, A3, and K20Z1. It also works for K24 swaps, but only if you run one of these K20 compressors rather than a K24 unit. So whether you swapped a K20 or a K24, this is the compressor the line kit is built to work with.

Compressor plus the line kit is how you go from a deleted AC system to a swapped car that still blows cold. Do both and it works.

Four Seasons Knows Compressors

Worth knowing who's behind the part.

Four Seasons is the largest aftermarket climate control supplier in the industry and the largest compressor remanufacturer in the world, with over 45 years in automotive AC. As a basic manufacturer, they engineer and build these rather than just rebranding someone else's, which is where the quality comes from.

This is a new compressor, not remanufactured, validated for the equivalent of 100,000 miles and built to meet or exceed OE specifications. On a component that's a pain to replace, starting new rather than reman is worth it.

Comes Ready To Install

The details that make the install cleaner.

It arrives pre-charged with 3 ounces of PAG 46 oil for R134a, so you're not adding oil separately. It includes direct-fit connectors to avoid splicing, and the required O-rings and sealing washers to seal the connections properly on install.

The clutch is included, and it runs a 7-groove serpentine pulley matched to the K20. Everything needed to mount and seal it is in the box.

Do The System Properly

Practical advice, since AC work is expensive to redo.

If you're replacing a failed compressor on an RSX or EP3, remember that a failed compressor often sends debris through the system. Replace or flush the receiver-drier and expansion valve and flush the lines, or the contamination can kill your new unit.

On a swap, you're building the AC path fresh anyway, so use new components throughout. Either way, a clean system is what makes a new compressor last.

Fitment

2002-2006 Acura RSX Base and Type-S
2002-2005 Honda Civic Si (EP3)

Also fits K20A/A2/A3 and K20Z1 swaps in older Honda and Acura chassis (EG, EK Civic, DC Integra, Del Sol), since it mounts to the swapped engine. Required compressor for K24 swaps using the Hybrid Racing AC line kit. Part number 58882. New, R134a, clutch included.

Who Should Grab This

This is for the RSX or EP3 owner replacing a dead compressor, and for the K-swap builder who wants to keep AC rather than delete it. It's a new Four Seasons unit, pre-charged and ready with the connectors and seals to install, and on a swap it's the compressor that bolts to your engine and pairs with the Hybrid Racing line kit. Add the line kit for your chassis, do the system properly, and keep cold air in a swapped car.

Fits: 2002-2006 Acura RSX Base and Type-S, 2002-2005 Honda Civic Si (EP3), and K20A/A2/A3/Z1 swaps in EG, EK, DC, and Del Sol chassis. K24 swaps: use this compressor with the Hybrid Racing line kit. Part number: 58882. Condition: new, validated to 100,000-mile equivalent. Refrigerant: R134a, pre-charged with 3 oz PAG 46. Includes: clutch, direct-fit connectors, and O-rings/sealing washers.
