Exedy Hyper Compe-R Twin Cerametallic Clutch and Flywheel Kit for B-Series Hydro - Part #HM022SR
This is a race clutch. Two rigid 184mm cerametallic discs, a forged aluminum cover, a drilled chromoly flywheel, and a 427 lb-ft at-the-wheels rating on a B-series. It's built for a turbo B18C or B16 that's outgrown a single disc and spends its time on a drag strip or a road course. If you're looking for a clutch that's pleasant in traffic, stop reading; the Compe-R has no damper springs and it will tell you so at every stoplight.
What It Is and Why It Works
Two small discs give you more friction area than one big one at a fraction of the inertia, which is why a twin holds more torque and still shifts faster than a Stage 2. The Compe-R uses rigid discs, no sprung hub, so there's nothing between the flywheel and the input shaft but T5001 cerametallic and steel. Engagement is immediate and shifts are as fast as your hand. The cost is noise: rigid discs rattle at idle and transmit every driveline shock straight into the gearset.
The forged aluminum cover doesn't deflect under load, so Exedy can run a higher lever ratio for more clamp without a ridiculous pedal. The grooved center plate helps the discs separate cleanly at high rpm so the clutch releases when you ask it to. The drilled chromoly flywheel is included and it's light; expect a fast-revving, easy-to-stall setup until you learn it.

What to Know Before You Buy
Order the accessory kit with it. HCAK100 or HCAK101 depending on the car; Exedy's application guide or a call to us sorts which one. The kit does not ship with a release bearing, pilot bearing or alignment tool.
Rigid discs and a street car are a bad marriage. If you want twin-disc capacity with some manners, Exedy's Compe-D uses damper discs; ask us about it.
Bed it in for 500 street miles anyway. Cerametallic that gets launched cold never holds rated torque.
