Exedy Hyper Series Accessory Kit for S2000 - Part #HCAK105

Exedy's S2000 Hyper Single and Hyper twin kits ship without a release bearing, pilot bearing or alignment tool, and the stock AP1/AP2 bearing doesn't fit the forged cover. HCAK105 is the box you order alongside the clutch so the install doesn't stall with the transmission on the floor.

What It Is and Why It Works

The Hyper Series forged aluminum cover has its own diaphragm geometry, so it needs a release bearing sized for it rather than the OE-style bearing that rides a stamped plate. Exedy packages that bearing with a fresh pilot bearing for the F20C/F22C crank and an alignment tool cut to the S2000 input, so the disc centers correctly when you torque the cover.

Reusing a used release bearing on a new pressure plate is how you get a squeal in neutral and a bearing failure that takes the new cover with it. On a clutch this expensive, the bearing kit is cheap insurance.

What to Know Before You Buy

Order it with the clutch. Nobody stocks it locally and the Hyper kit can't go in without it, so a forgotten bearing kit means a car on the lift for a week.

Pull the old pilot before you assume the new one just presses in. A half-seated pilot eats the input shaft, and on an F20C that's a bad day.

If you're only replacing a Hyper disc and keeping the cover, still fit a new release bearing. It's the cheapest part in the box and the one most likely to be tired.
