Exedy Hyper Series Accessory Kit for K-Series - Part #HCAK103

Exedy's Hyper Single and Hyper twin kits ship without a release bearing, pilot bearing or alignment tool, and the stock RSX bearing doesn't fit the forged cover. HCAK103 is the box you have to buy alongside HH03SD or HM032SBL to actually install the clutch. Order them together or you'll be waiting on this one with the car on the lift.

What It Is and Why It Works

The Hyper Series cover uses its own release bearing geometry, sized for the forged aluminum cover's diaphragm rather than a stamped OE-style plate. Exedy supplies it with a fresh pilot bearing for the crank and an alignment tool cut to the 24-spline K-series input, so the disc centers correctly when you torque the cover. Three parts, one box, one part number.

Every Hyper kit is a fresh install of a new cover; reusing an old release bearing on a new pressure plate is the fastest way to get a squeal in neutral and a bearing failure that takes the new cover with it.

Fitment follows the Hyper kit it supports. It is not a stock-clutch bearing kit.

What to Know Before You Buy

This is the K-series kit. B-series Hyper kits (HM022SR) take HCAK100 or HCAK101 depending on application. Don't cross them.

Pull the old pilot bearing before you assume the new one just presses in; K-series pilots come out with a slide hammer or a grease-and-dowel trick, and a half-seated pilot will eat the input shaft.

If you're only replacing a Hyper disc (DH04D) and keeping the cover, you still want a fresh release bearing. Cheap insurance next to the cost of the clutch.
