Exedy OEM Clutch Master Cylinder for K-Series - Part #MC502

K-series masters fail the same way every other Honda master does: pedal sinks, engagement point wanders, fluid shows up on the firewall. The difference is these cars get driven hard, so it happens sooner. Exedy's MC502 is the OE-style replacement for the RSX, Civic Si, TSX and the K24 Accord, CR-V and Element, and it's what to put in instead of a reman.

What It Is and Why It Works

The master turns pedal travel into line pressure for the slave. Score the bore or harden the cup seals and pressure bypasses the piston; the pedal loses its return and its consistency. Rebuild kits don't fix a scored bore. A new cylinder does.

MC502 keeps the factory bore and stroke so pedal effort and release range stay stock. Aluminum body, honed bore, EPDM seals. Exedy GlobalParts (formerly Daikin Clutch USA) is Honda's OE clutch supplier, so this is the same unit that goes in the Honda box.

What to Know Before You Buy

Do the slave with it. SC895 covers the early RSX, 02-05 Si, Accord, CR-V and Element; SC899 covers the 05-06 RSX-S, 06-15 Si and TSX. Check which transmission you have before ordering.

Full bleed with fresh DOT 3 afterward, and set pedal freeplay to spec. A master adjusted with no freeplay never fully returns and wears the seals out early.

On a K-swap the chassis master matters more than the engine. EG/EK/DC2 swaps keep their B-series master; this part is for the K chassis listed above.
