EVS Tuning Front Tow Hook Assembly - 2023-2026 Civic Type R (FL5)
Most track days require a proper front tow point, and the factory FL5 doesn't give you a good one, so this is the piece that gets you through tech and gives the safety crew something solid to hook onto. EVS built it to bolt to the frame with no bumper cutting, and it folds flat when you're not using it, so it works on a street-driven car as well as a track one. Foldable tow ring in red or yellow.
It's For Passing Tech And Getting Recovered
The practical reason this exists, so it's worth being clear.
Track day organizers almost universally require a marked, accessible tow point, front and often rear, because when a car stops on track, the safety crew needs to move it quickly and safely without damaging it or wasting time figuring out where to attach. No tow point often means no track time.
This gives you a strong, obvious front tow location that satisfies that requirement. And if you do end up stranded, a proper tow hook means the recovery crew hooks on and pulls rather than dragging your car by something that wasn't meant to take the load. It's cheap insurance against both a failed tech inspection and a botched recovery.
Pull Tested Past 3000kg
The number that matters, because a tow point is only useful if it actually holds.
This assembly is pull tested past 3000kg, which is well beyond what's needed to recover a Civic and gives you real margin for a hard pull out of gravel or a recovery under load. A tow hook that bends or tears under a genuine pull is worse than none, since it fails at the exact moment you need it. This is built and tested to take the force.
The assembly bolts to the frame, not the bumper or a cosmetic panel, so the load goes into the structure that can actually handle it.
No Bumper Cutting
The detail that makes it livable on a street car.
A lot of tow solutions require cutting the bumper to route the hook through, which is permanent and looks it. This installs without any cutting, bolting to the frame with the included extension adapter positioning the hook where it needs to be.
That means you can fit it, use it for track days, and not have permanently modified your bumper for a car you also drive on the street. Easy installation, nothing irreversible.
Folds Away When You're Not Using It
Why the foldable design matters.
A fixed tow hook sticks out permanently, which looks aggressive but catches on things and isn't to everyone's taste on a daily driver. This one folds: flip it up when you need it for a track day, fold it flat the rest of the time.
The tow ring has a 60mm inner diameter, sized to accept standard recovery straps and hooks the safety crews use, so it works with the equipment that'll actually be recovering you.
Red Or Yellow
Two finishes for the folding tow ring, and it's partly practical.
Bright colors on a tow point aren't just aesthetic, a clearly visible tow ring is easier for a recovery crew to spot and grab quickly, which is the point in a hurry. Red and yellow are both high-visibility, so pick whichever suits your car's look. Some series or events even specify a color, so check if yours does.
