Energy Suspension Rear Sway Bar Bushings, 25.4mm - 2000-2009 Honda S2000
You can bolt on the best sway bar available and still lose a chunk of what it does to the bushings holding it in place. Factory rubber bushings flex, and every bit of flex is bar movement that isn't doing anything for your handling. These Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings replace that rubber with something that actually holds, so the bar starts working the instant the chassis loads up instead of after the bushings have finished squishing.
Why Bushings Matter More Than People Think
Here's what's happening under your car. Your rear sway bar resists body roll by twisting, and it can only twist if it's held firmly at its mounting points. Factory rubber bushings are soft on purpose, because Honda wanted the car quiet and compliant. That softness means the bar deflects within its own mounts before it starts resisting anything.
The result is a delay. You turn in, the bushings compress, and only then does the bar do its job. It's a small amount of movement but you feel it as vagueness right at the initial part of the corner, which on an S2000 is exactly where you're paying attention.
Polyurethane barely compresses by comparison. The bar is located firmly, it starts resisting roll immediately, and your rear end responds the moment you ask rather than a beat later. If you've already upgraded to a stiffer bar, this is what lets you actually collect what you paid for.
They Outlast The Rubber By A Long Way
The other half of the argument is durability. Rubber bushings degrade. They harden, crack, and eventually tear, and on a car that's now fifteen to twenty-five years old, yours have been cycling a very long time. Once they're worn you get clunking, movement, and a bar that's barely doing anything.
Polyurethane doesn't break down the same way. These will outlast the rubber they replace by a wide margin, which matters on a car you plan to keep.
Check Your Bar Diameter First
Quick but important. These are sized for a 25.4mm rear bar. If you're running the factory bar, confirm your diameter, and if you've fitted an aftermarket bar, check what size it actually is before ordering. A bushing that doesn't match the bar won't locate it properly, which defeats the entire purpose.
Grease Them, Then Grease Them Again
One piece of advice that makes the difference between happy and annoyed. Polyurethane bushings need proper lubrication on the inner surface where the bar rotates, and Energy Suspension includes their grease in the box so you've got what you need.
Use it, and be generous. Skip this step and you'll get a squeak that shows up a few weeks later and drives you up the wall. It's the single most common complaint with poly bushings and it's entirely avoidable. Grease them properly on install and you'll never think about it again.

Who Should Run These
This is for the S2000 owner who's chasing precision in the rear end, whether that's alongside a sway bar upgrade or just replacing bushings that have gone soft after two decades. It's an inexpensive part that makes a genuine difference in how immediately the car responds, and on a chassis this good, removing that last bit of slop is worth doing. Grease them well, bolt them in, and go feel the difference on turn-in.
