Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs - 2017-2020 Honda Civic Si

The Sportline is the aggressive end of Eibach's spring range, and on a 10th gen Si it drops the car considerably further than a Pro-Kit does. That's the point. You get a lower center of gravity, less squat under acceleration, less roll in corners, and less nose dive under braking, along with a stance that actually looks like the car was set up rather than left alone.

Sportline Or Pro-Kit?

Worth understanding, because this is Eibach's more aggressive option and it isn't automatically the right one.

The Pro-Kit is the moderate drop, designed to sharpen the car while keeping ride quality close to factory. It's the sensible choice for a daily driver where you want improvement without commitment.

The Sportline goes lower. More drop, more visual impact, and a lower center of gravity that does more for handling. The tradeoff is that a bigger drop means more compromise on ride and less suspension travel to work with.

If you want the car noticeably lower and you're willing to accept a firmer ride to get there, this is the one. If you want a modest improvement on a car you commute in daily, the Pro-Kit is the better fit.

Your Drop Depends On Body Style

Same spring across both, but the car reacts differently depending on which Si you have.

Coupe: 1.5" front, 1.7" rear
Sedan: 1.7" front, 1.8" rear

The sedan sits a little lower overall, mostly a function of its factory ride height and weight distribution. Both end up meaningfully lower than stock.

Progressive Rate Is What Makes It Livable

This is the engineering that keeps a drop this aggressive from being punishing.

A linear spring has one rate throughout its travel. Whatever it is at the first millimeter of compression is what it is at the last. That means a spring stiff enough to control roll at this ride height is also stiff enough to punish you over every expansion joint, because it can't tell the difference.

Eibach winds these progressively, so the rate climbs as the spring compresses. Small inputs, road texture and minor imperfections, only work the softer portion. Load the car in a corner or hit a real compression and the rate rises to resist it. One spring doing two jobs, which is how you get a low car that's still tolerable on a commute.

They Work With Your Stock Dampers

Important, and it's a real engineering claim rather than a throwaway line. Eibach designs and tests these to work with the factory shocks, so you're not obligated to buy dampers at the same time.

One honest caveat though. That assumes your dampers are healthy. If your Si has real miles on it and the shocks are tired, a lower, stiffer spring will expose that immediately. The car will float over undulations and crash over bumps, and you'll blame the springs when the dampers are the problem. Worth being honest about their condition before you order.

Built To Last

Precision wound from high-tensile steel alloy, cold formed, tempered, and shot peened. That last step matters more than it sounds, since shot peening relieves surface stress and is a large part of why quality springs don't sag over time the way cheap ones do.

Eibach backs them with their Million Mile Warranty, which tells you what they expect from them.

Book An Alignment

Non-negotiable on a drop this size. Lowering the car changes camber and toe, and driving on it unaligned means eating tires and a car that won't track straight. Budget for the alignment as part of the job rather than an afterthought.

Worth checking your fender clearance too, particularly if you're running anything other than factory wheel and tire sizing.

Who Should Run These Springs

This is for the Si owner who wants the car properly low rather than mildly improved, and who's willing to give up a bit of ride comfort for the stance and the handling. Progressive rate keeps it civil enough to daily, the drop is significant enough to actually change how the car looks, and Eibach engineered it to work with what's already on the car. Check your dampers, order the alignment, and get it sitting right.
