Driveshaft Shop Level 0 Axle Set - K-Swapped EG, EK & DC
Not every swap needs a race axle. This is Driveshaft Shop's Level 0, built as a proper alternative to cheap rebuilt axles for someone finishing a swap on a budget. Chromoly center bar, billet inner CV, oversized tripod, and a genuinely better outer CV design than the factory piece. Sold as a left and right pair.
Be Clear On What This Is
Driveshaft Shop is unusually direct about positioning, and we'd rather repeat it than let you find out later.
This is not a racing axle. It's designed for basic swaps and as an alternative to cheap rebuilds, so you can finish the car properly on a budget and buy real racing axles later when the build calls for them.
There's no horsepower rating and no warranty against breakage. That's Driveshaft Shop's own position, not a fine print item we're glossing over.
So if you're building a high power drag or competition car, look at their higher tiers instead. If you're finishing a swap, driving the car, and want something considerably better than a rebuilt axle without paying race prices, this is exactly what it's for.
Which Subframe Are You Running?
This determines which set you need, and it's the check to get right.
EG or DC subframe with EKK2 mounts: RA4001L0 / RA4004L0
Stock EK subframe with EKK1 mounts: RA4005L0 / RA4006L0
Your mounts decide where the drivetrain sits, and that position determines axle length and working angle. The two mount layouts put the powertrain in different places, so the axles aren't interchangeable between them.
Both versions require a K20 RSX or Civic Si intermediate bar. Substituting a different one creates length and plunge problems that won't show up until the suspension moves.
The Outer CV Is Genuinely Better Than Factory
This is the standout engineering detail and it's worth understanding.
Honda's factory outer CV uses a dual arc design, which has a known tendency to wear out prematurely. Driveshaft Shop's outer is custom made with a single arc design instead, and it addresses that wear pattern directly.
That's a real advantage over both a factory axle and a rebuilt one, since a rebuild is putting new boots and grease on the same dual arc geometry that wore out in the first place. Combined with a new heat treat on the 1117 billet outer, it's the reason this holds up better than what it's replacing.
What Else Is In There
Chromoly center bar for torsional strength, which is how axles actually fail rather than by bending.
Real billet inner CV with an oversized tripod, which is where a swapped car's axle typically gives up since the inner joint handles torque and plunge simultaneously.
Removable ABS rings, so you're covered whether your car uses them or not.
Better Than A Rebuild
Worth being clear about where this sits.
Rebuilt axles are a gamble. You're buying a used core with new boots, and the wear inside is whatever it was. On a swapped car putting more torque through them than they ever saw stock, that's a poor bet.
Driveshaft Shop positions this above the swap axles most mount companies offer, and the construction backs that up. Billet inner CV and a redesigned outer aren't things you find on a budget axle.
It's a quality part at a sensible price. It just isn't a race part, and nobody involved is pretending otherwise.
Check Your Range Of Motion After Install
The step people skip, and the one that saves an axle.
Once fitted, cycle the suspension through full travel and turn to full lock both directions. You're checking that the inner joint isn't bottoming out at compression or over-extending at droop, and that everything clears through the steering range.
A swapped car's geometry isn't what the factory intended, so this verification matters more than it would on a stock chassis.

What is the warranty for the performance axles?
The Level 0 has no warranty against breakage. DSS Level 2.9, 3.9 and Level 5.9 have a 1-year warranty. Warranty covers broken or worn parts for the term. Boots are not covered under this warranty. You will be responsible for shipping to the factory and DSS will pay to ship back for warranty repairs. For out of country sales, shipping both ways will be the responsibility of the purchaser.
How does the warranty work?
The warranty covers the repair of the original unit. Most companies don't cover performance products at all, but the Driveshaft shop believes in our products and is willing to go the extra mile for you. If you have a warranty claim do not reorder the axle and send in the old one as a defect. The claim will be repaired and you will have 2 axles.
How long will a repair take?
Turn around time is about 3-4 days. We will cover UPS ground shipping (within the states) only. No overnight air or out of the country shipping will be covered. It is your responsibility to get the axles to us and get them back.
