Driveshaft Shop Level 0 Axle Set - H-Series Swapped 1992-2000 Civic
H-swapping an EG or EK means sourcing axles that suit a drivetrain the chassis never came with. This is Driveshaft Shop's Level 0, built as a proper alternative to cheap rebuilds so you can finish the swap without spending race axle money. Chromoly center bar, billet inner CV, oversized tripod, and an outer CV design genuinely better than Honda's. Sold as a left and right pair.
Read This First: Two Hard Requirements
Both of these determine whether these axles fit, and neither has any flexibility.
Prelude (male) intermediate shaft. These are built for it. If you're running the Accord (female) shaft, they will not fit. Male and female are exactly what they sound like, so the check is quick and unambiguous.
Hasport EGH3 or EKH3 mounts. These mount kits position the drivetrain where the axles were designed around. Other mount layouts put the engine somewhere else, which changes axle length and working angle.
Confirm both before ordering. H-series parts get mixed across donors constantly, so go by what's actually in your car rather than what you think you bought.
Be Clear On What This Is
Driveshaft Shop is unusually direct about positioning, and we'd rather repeat it than let you find out later.
This is not a racing axle. It's designed for basic swaps and as an alternative to cheap rebuilds, so you can get the car together on a budget and buy real racing axles later when the build calls for them.
There's no horsepower rating and no warranty against breakage. That's Driveshaft Shop's own position on the Level 0 line, not fine print we're glossing over.
If you're building serious power, their higher tiers exist for that. If you're finishing an H-swap and want something considerably better than a rebuild, this is exactly what it's for.
The Outer CV Is Genuinely Better Than Factory
This is the standout engineering detail and it's worth understanding.
Honda's factory outer CV uses a dual arc design, which has a known tendency to wear out prematurely. Driveshaft Shop's outer is custom made with a single arc design instead, and it addresses that wear pattern directly.
That's a real advantage over both a factory axle and a rebuilt one, since a rebuild puts new boots and grease on the same dual arc geometry that wore out in the first place. Combined with a new heat treat on the 1117 billet outer, it's the reason this holds up better than what it's replacing.
Better Than A Rebuild Or A Mount Company Axle
Worth being clear about where this sits.
Rebuilt axles are a gamble. You're buying a used core with new boots, and whatever wear existed inside is still there. On a swapped car putting more torque through them than they ever saw stock, that's a poor bet.
Driveshaft Shop positions this above the swap axles most mount companies offer, and the construction backs it up. A chromoly center bar, a real billet inner CV with an oversized tripod, and a redesigned outer aren't things you find on a budget axle.
It's a quality part at a sensible price. It just isn't a race part, and nobody involved is pretending otherwise.
Removable ABS Rings
Small detail that saves a headache. The axles include removable ABS rings, so you're covered whether your car uses them or not without needing a different part.
Check Your Range Of Motion After Install
The step people skip, and the one that saves an axle.
Once fitted, cycle the suspension through full travel and turn to full lock both directions. You're checking that the inner joint isn't bottoming out at compression or over-extending at droop, and that everything clears through the steering range.
A swapped car's geometry isn't what the factory intended, so this verification matters more than it would on a stock chassis.
Fitment
1992-2000 Honda Civic with an H-series swap
Requires Hasport EGH2, EGH3, EKH2, or EKH3 mounts and the Prelude (male) intermediate shaft. Will not fit with the Accord (female) intermediate shaft or other mount layouts. Includes left and right axles.
Who Should Run These
This is for the builder finishing an H-swap who wants correct, quality axles without race axle money, and who'd rather buy something honest than gamble on a rebuild. Confirm your mounts and your intermediate shaft first, since those two things decide whether these fit. Then get the car together, drive it, and step up when the power level calls for it.
Fits: 1992-2000 Honda Civic with H-series swap using Hasport EGH2, EGH3, EKH2, or EKH3 mounts and the Prelude (male) intermediate shaft. Does not fit: Accord (female) intermediate shaft or other mount layouts. Includes: left and right axles with removable ABS rings. Construction: chromoly center bar, billet inner CV with oversized tripod, single arc 1117 billet outer CV. Note: not a racing axle. No horsepower rating and no warranty against breakage. Also available: X4 700HP axles.
