Driveshaft Shop Level 0 Axle Set - B-Series Hydro, Civic, Integra & Del Sol

Not every car needs a race axle. This is Driveshaft Shop's Level 0, built as a proper alternative to cheap rebuilt axles, whether you're replacing worn originals or finishing a B-series swap on a budget. Chromoly center bar, billet inner CV, oversized tripod, and an outer CV design that's genuinely better than what Honda used. Sold as a left and right pair.

Be Clear On What This Is

Driveshaft Shop is unusually direct about positioning, and we'd rather repeat it than let you find out later.

This is not a racing axle. It's designed for stock replacement and basic swaps, and as an alternative to cheap rebuilds.

There's no horsepower rating and no warranty against breakage. That's Driveshaft Shop's own position on the Level 0 line, not fine print we're glossing over.

So if you're building a high power drag or competition car, their higher tiers exist for that. If you're replacing tired factory axles or getting a swap on the road without spending race money, this is exactly what it's for.

The Outer CV Is Genuinely Better Than Factory

This is the standout engineering detail and it's worth understanding.

Honda's factory outer CV uses a dual arc design, which has a known tendency to wear out prematurely. Driveshaft Shop's outer is custom made with a single arc design instead, and it addresses that wear pattern directly.

That's a real advantage over both a factory axle and a rebuilt one, since a rebuild puts new boots and grease on the same dual arc geometry that wore out in the first place. Combined with a new heat treat on the 1117 billet outer, it's the reason this holds up better than what it's replacing.

Better Than A Rebuild

Worth being clear about where this sits, because rebuilt axles are the obvious cheaper alternative.

A rebuild is a used core with new boots and grease. Whatever wear existed inside is still there, and on a car that's now twenty-five to thirty-five years old that's a lot of unknown history. You're gambling on a part that failed once already.

This is new throughout, with a chromoly center bar, a real billet inner CV with an oversized tripod, and the redesigned outer. Those aren't things you find on a budget axle, and they're why this outlasts what it replaces rather than repeating the same failure.

Removable ABS Rings

Small detail that saves a headache. The axles include removable ABS rings, so you're covered whether your car uses them or not without needing a different part.

Building Something Else? Two Other Options

This page covers B-series hydro applications. If your car is set up differently, we've got you.

K-swapped EG, EK, or DC? The Level 0 K-swap axles are the same tier built around EKK1 and EKK2 mount geometry, which positions the drivetrain differently than a B-series does.

Making serious power? The X4 700HP axles are the step up, built from 300M and rated for 700 to 1000 wheel horsepower with a one year warranty. That's the tier for a fast street car that also sees the track, and it's where to look if the Level 0's lack of a rating gives you pause.

Check Your Range Of Motion After Install

Worth doing, particularly on a swapped car.

Once fitted, cycle the suspension through full travel and turn to full lock both directions. You're checking that the inner joint isn't bottoming out at compression or over-extending at droop, and that everything clears through the steering range.

On a stock car this is a quick sanity check. On a swapped or lowered chassis it matters more, since the geometry isn't what the factory intended.
