Driveshaft Shop Level 0 Axle Set - K-Swapped 2001-2005 Civic (EM2 / ES1)

K-swapping a 7th gen Civic means the D17 is gone and the drivetrain is now something the chassis never had. That includes axles, and the factory pieces aren't the answer. This is Driveshaft Shop's Level 0, built as a proper alternative to cheap rebuilds so you can finish the swap without race axle money. Chromoly center bar, billet inner CV, and an outer CV design genuinely better than Honda's. Sold as a left and right pair.

Built Around ESK3 Mount Geometry

Worth confirming before you order.

These are designed around the drivetrain position Hasport's ESK3 mounts put the engine in, which is the kit used for K-swaps running the 02-11 RSX and Civic Si transmission.

Your mounts decide where the engine and transmission sit, and that position determines axle length and working angle. A different mount layout puts the powertrain somewhere else, which means these are the wrong length for it.

Be Clear On What This Is

Driveshaft Shop is unusually direct about positioning, and we'd rather repeat it than let you find out later.

This is not a racing axle. It's a swap axle, built as an alternative to cheap rebuilds so you can get the car together properly and buy real racing axles later when the build calls for them.

There's no horsepower rating and no warranty against breakage. That's Driveshaft Shop's own position on the Level 0 line, not fine print we're glossing over.

If you're building serious power, their higher tiers exist for that. If you're finishing a K-swap and want something considerably better than a rebuild, this is exactly what it's for.

The Outer CV Is Genuinely Better Than Factory

This is the standout engineering detail and it's worth understanding.

Honda's factory outer CV uses a dual arc design, which has a known tendency to wear out prematurely. Driveshaft Shop's outer is custom made with a single arc design instead, and it addresses that wear pattern directly. Combined with a new heat treat on the 1117 billet outer, it's the reason this holds up better than what it's replacing.

Better Than A Rebuild Or A Mount Company Axle

Worth being clear about where this sits.

Rebuilt axles are a gamble. You're buying a used core with new boots, and whatever wear existed inside is still there. On a swapped car putting K-series torque through them, that's a poor bet.

Driveshaft Shop positions this above the swap axles most mount companies offer, and the construction backs it up. A chromoly center bar, a real billet inner CV with an oversized tripod, and a redesigned outer aren't things you find on a budget axle.

It's a quality part at a sensible price. It just isn't a race part, and nobody involved is pretending otherwise.

Check Your Range Of Motion After Install

The step people skip, and the one that saves an axle.

Once fitted, cycle the suspension through full travel and turn to full lock both directions. You're checking that the inner joint isn't bottoming out at compression or over-extending at droop, and that everything clears through the steering range.

A swapped car's geometry isn't what the factory intended, so this verification matters more than it would on a stock chassis.

Fitment

Who Should Run These

This is for the builder finishing a K-swap in a 7th gen Civic who wants correct, quality axles without race axle money, and who'd rather buy something honest than gamble on a rebuild. Confirm your mounts, fit them, check your travel, and get the car on the road.
