Pulling the head on an 8th gen Civic Si means a pile of one-time-use gaskets and seals, and sourcing them individually from Honda gets expensive fast. Cometic's Street Pro kit for the K20Z3 puts the whole top end reseal in one box, anchored by the same 86mm .030 MLS head gasket they sell as a standalone race part.

What It Is and Why It Works

The head gasket is the reason to buy the kit: a 3-layer MLS with embossed, Viton-coated stainless outer layers over a stainless center shim, sealed dry with no re-torque and heat resistant to 482F. It clamps evenly across the deck, cuts bore distortion, and springs back through heat cycles instead of taking a set, which matters on an engine that lives above 8,000 rpm. Around it, Cometic packs the Street Pro line's standard top end contents for the application: intake gaskets with end seals, exhaust manifold gasket, valve cover gasket, thermostat housing gasket, valve stem seals, and throttle body gasket, all in Cometic's own materials rather than a grab bag of parts-store fiber.

Fitment

K20Z3 only. The head gasket in this kit fits the RBC head bolt pattern at the stock 86mm bore.

What to Know Before You Buy

The 86mm head gasket is for a stock-bore block. If your K20Z3 has been bored to 87mm, buy the rest of the kit for the soft parts and swap in Cometic's C4562-030 87mm head gasket, which we sell separately, or just source the gaskets individually. Same rule as any RBC-pattern gasket: on a K20/K24 hybrid running the 06-11 Si head, this kit's head gasket is the correct pattern. Fresh head bolts or a stud kit and a torque job with ARP Ultra Torque finish the job properly.
