Cometic MLS Head Gaskets for Honda F22A, F22B & F23 - Part #C14017-045 / #C14018-045 / #C4619-036
The F-series four-cylinder moved a lot of Accords and Preludes through the 90s, and plenty of them are still out there with 250,000 miles and a head gasket finally letting go. Whether the head is coming off for a refresh or the bottom end is getting built for boost, Cometic's MLS gaskets seal the F-series better than the fiber gasket Honda shipped it with.
What It Is and Why It Works
Each of these is a 3-layer MLS gasket: two embossed stainless outer layers coated in Viton, a fluoroelastomer rated to 482F, over an uncoated stainless center shim that sets the thickness. The embossments spread clamp load evenly across the deck, which cuts bore distortion, and the stainless springs back with every heat cycle instead of crushing flat the way a composite gasket does. No sealant, no re-torque after installation, and the construction handles an aluminum head on a cast iron or aluminum block without complaint.
Heads up on the part numbers, because this listing spans two engine families. The two .045 gaskets (85mm and 86mm) are Cometic's F22A parts for the 90-93 Accord and 92-96 Prelude S. The 87mm .036 gasket is a different Cometic part for the F22B and F23 engines in the 94-02 Accord, 97-99 CL, and 95-98 Odyssey.

Four-cylinder models only. Match the gasket to the engine family first and the bore second: the .045 gaskets are the F22A parts, and the 87mm .036 gasket is the F22B/F23 part. V6 Accords and CLs use a different gasket entirely.
What to Know Before You Buy
Stock bore on the F22A is 85mm, so the 85mm gasket covers a stock rebuild and the 86mm covers a cleanup overbore. The F22B/F23 gasket here is 87mm only, which is oversized relative to the stock 85mm bore; that is normal practice for a performance build with clearance in mind, but if you want a tighter fire ring on a stock-bore F22B, Cometic makes smaller-bore versions of the same C4618/C4619 family we can order in. Measure your deck and know your engine code before picking, because an F22A gasket will not seal an F22B correctly and vice versa.
