Description

COBB Tuning Silicone Radiator Hoses - 23-27 Honda Civic Type R (FL5) & 24-27 Acura Integra Type S (DE5)

Factory radiator hoses are rubber, and rubber has a shelf life. Every heat cycle slowly dries it out, and over years and miles it hardens, gets brittle, and eventually cracks or splits, usually at the worst possible time. These COBB Tuning silicone radiator hoses are a direct replacement for the factory hoses on your FL5 Civic Type R or DE5 Integra Type S, built from 3-ply reinforced silicone that outlasts rubber by a wide margin and shrugs off the heat these turbocharged cars make. They look better in the bay too, finished in black with COBB branding at both ends.

Why Silicone Beats Rubber

Silicone holds up to heat in a way rubber simply can't. It has a higher operating temperature range, so it stays stable when the K20C1 is working hard and the cooling system is loaded, and it keeps its flexibility over a much longer lifespan instead of drying out and going hard. It's also more resistant to the chemical breakdown that attacks rubber from the coolant side over time. That combination is why a silicone hose can still be soft and sealing years after a rubber hose would have started to crack. This is a durability and longevity upgrade more than a performance one, so be clear-eyed about it: it won't drop your coolant temps versus a healthy factory hose, but it will outlast it and it won't leave you stranded with a split hose.

3-Ply Reinforced Construction

These aren't single-layer silicone. They're built with three plies of silicone bonded around a reinforcing fabric layer, which is what gives them their burst strength. That matters because a hose under a pressurized, hot cooling system wants to balloon and eventually fail; the fabric reinforcement keeps the hose from swelling under pressure and holds its shape and seal through hard use. For a car that sees extended aggressive driving or track time, where the cooling system runs hot and pressurized for long stretches, that reinforced construction is exactly the kind of insurance you want.

Built for Hard-Driven Cars

The FL5 and DE5 are genuine track-capable cars, and track days are where cooling systems get pushed hardest and where tired factory hoses are most likely to let go. Swapping to reinforced silicone before that happens is cheap peace of mind, and if your car is getting up in age or miles, it's smart maintenance regardless of whether you ever see a track.
