PRODUCT DETAILS
Clutch Masters FX200 Clutch Kit replaces the whole clutch assembly on manual trans Civic 1.5L turbo cars. You get a pressure plate and a full face disc that grab the flywheel, pass torque into the trans input shaft, then actually let go cleanly when you bang the next gear. That sounds basic, but if the clamp load changes run to run or the friction feels random, your car turns into a jerky mess fast.
This kit uses the Clutch Masters Power Plus I pressure plate and a steel backed Kevlar full face disc. Clutch Masters says Power Plus I changes leverage ring position, plus diaphragm re arching and heat treating, to add clamp load without turning your left leg into a gym membership. The Kevlar disc also means you do not get to skip break in. It needs seat time before you start leaning on it.
In the real world, the Clutch Masters Civic FX200 setup makes sense when you want to step up from an OEM organic style clutch but you still want street manners. Think daily driving, stop and go, and the occasional pull, not clutch kicks at every light. You usually pick an FX200 Clutch Kit Civic Si, FX200 Clutch Kit Civic Sport, or FX200 Clutch Kit Civic EX-T because you want predictable engagement and you do not want a huge pedal jump like some more aggressive pressure plates. The trade off is simple, Kevlar demands the full break in, and if you rush it, it will remind you later.

Installation considerations matter more than most people want to admit. Check your flywheel compatibility and the surface condition before you bolt anything together, because release quality and smooth engagement depend on the right finish, especially during that 500 mile seating period. Follow Clutch Masters torque specs and the break in steps. We run these exact parts on our own cars, and the fastest way to hate a Kevlar clutch is to treat break in like a suggestion. If you do it right, you end up with a solid Civic 1.5L FX200 Clutch that feels consistent every day.
