Description
Brian Crower 2.16L Stroker Kits for B18/B20
The Brian Crower B18/B20 2.16L Stroker Kit is a rotating assembly package for Honda and Acura B series non VTEC applications that increases displacement by replacing the factory crankshaft with a 95 mm stroke 4340 billet crankshaft and matching it with compatible connecting rods and custom pistons. In the engine system, this kit changes swept volume through additional crank stroke, which increases displacement without changing cylinder count or cylinder head architecture.
In factory form, B18 and B20 engines use shorter stroke crankshafts. A stroker kit addresses the displacement limitation by increasing stroke, which requires coordinated changes to rod length and piston compression height to maintain deck clearance and provide a workable piston to deck relationship. This is why the kit is sold as a matched crankshaft, rod, and piston package rather than as a crankshaft only.
All variants listed here share the same basic architecture:
- Crankshaft 4340 billet steel crankshaft with 95 mm stroke
- Pistons custom pistons with buyer selected bore and compression specification
- Bearings ACL Race bearings are specified as a separate purchase
Variant selection is primarily a connecting rod and fastener choice. Use the rod configuration to match build intent and cylinder pressure expectations, while keeping in mind that rod length also affects piston design and geometry.
| SKU | Rod type | Rod length | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
BC0024B |
I beam Pro rods | 5.394 inch center to center | 95 mm stroke crank with standard length rod configuration |
BC0027B |
ProH2K long rods | 5.512 inch center to center | 95 mm stroke crank with long rod configuration |
BC0028B |
ProH625 plus rods | 5.394 inch center to center | Rod bolts are specified as three eighth inch ARP Custom Age 625 plus |
BC0029B |
ProH2K rods | 5.394 inch center to center | 95 mm stroke crank with standard length ProH2K rod configuration |
When an experienced builder chooses this kit is typically when the goal is a displacement increase using a single matched rotating assembly, rather than mixing individual crank, rod, and piston part numbers. The BC0027B long rod option is selected when a long rod geometry is specifically desired and when the builder wants a kit built around that rod length rather than adapting parts.
Installation and Considerations
- Machine work and clearancing are typically required for a stroker configuration and should be verified during mock up, including crank to block clearance and rod to block clearance.
- Piston specification is order dependent because bore and compression are selected, so the final piston configuration should be confirmed before machining and final assembly.
- Bearings are not included, so bearing selection and clearances remain part of the engine build plan.
