BC Racing BR Series Coilovers - 1992-1995 Honda Civic / 1993-1997 Honda Del Sol

If you want real coilovers on your EG Civic or Del Sol without dumping a fortune into your suspension, BC Racing's BR Series is where most people start, and there's a good reason for it. It's the most affordable way into a true coilover setup, but BC Racing didn't get there by cutting the stuff that matters. You're still getting height adjustment, ride quality, build quality, and real handling. Here's how they pull it off. BC Racing actually tests each car and dials the coilover in for that specific chassis, tuning the spring rates and valving until it's balanced instead of just throwing a stiff one-size-fits-all kit at you. That's the trap a lot of cheap coilovers fall into, they've oversprung everything so it rides like a brick. BC Racing won't do that. They've tuned the BR Series to ride right, so you're getting the drop and the handling without beating yourself up on the daily. Pair that with BC's 30 clicks of damping adjustment and you've got a setup you can actually fine-tune to how you drive.

Why The BR Series Hits The Sweet Spot

Here's what separates a good coilover from a punishing one, and it's the spring rates. A lot of budget coilovers go way too stiff, because a harsh ride feels "sporty" on a showroom floor, but it turns into a miserable daily that crashes over every bump and actually handles worse because the tires can't stay planted. BC Racing went the other way, and they're pretty vocal about it. They pick spring rates that strike a real balance between comfort and performance, so you're never stuck with the oversprung setup a lot of other brands'll sell you. The BR Series controls the body and grips through corners without rattling your fillings loose on the street. BC's default rates here are 9KG front and 4KG rear, dialed in for this chassis. You're getting a car that's planted and fun when you push it and still livable when you're just driving to work. That balance is the whole reason the BR Series exists.

30 Clicks Of Adjustment To Dial It In

One of the best parts of BC's BR Series is how much you can tune it. You've got 30 clicks of damping adjustment, compression and rebound adjusted together, so you're not stuck with one fixed feel. Want it softer for the street and your commute? Back the clicks off. Heading to a track day or some canyon roads and you want it tighter? Crank it up. You set it where you want it and you change it whenever you want. And because BC built it on a mono-tube shock with a linear piston and damping curve, the adjustments actually behave predictably across the whole range instead of doing nothing for 20 clicks and then slamming on all at once. On top of that, the height adjusts independently of spring compression, so you can get your ride height exactly where you want it without messing up your spring preload or your damping. That's BC's design doing what a lot of cheaper coilovers can't.

Eyelet Or Fork Rear Mount - Get The Right One

One thing you've gotta nail down before you order. This kit comes in two rear mounting styles, eyelet and fork, and you need the one that matches your car's rear lower mounting setup. They're not interchangeable, so if you grab the wrong style it won't bolt up right. If you're not sure which one your chassis uses, check before you buy or reach out and confirm it, because getting it right up front saves you the headache of a return. Once you've got the correct rear mount, everything bolts in the way it should.

How Low It Goes

The standard kit drops you about 1 inch below stock at its highest setting and roughly 2.5 to 3 inches below stock at its lowest, so you've got a real range to find your stance. If you want to go lower, BC's extreme drop version sits about 2 inches below stock at max height and around 4 inches below at its lowest. Just keep in mind your actual ride height can vary a bit depending on your chassis and its limitations, so if you want exact numbers for your specific setup, it's worth reaching out to the sales team to confirm before you order.

Built To Last And Fully Rebuildable

These aren't throwaway coilovers. BC's BR Series is fully rebuildable, so when they eventually wear down the road, you send them in for a refresh instead of buying a whole new set, and that'll save you serious money over the life of the car. BC Racing backs them with a 2-year warranty against manufacturer defects, and if you want to take them further, BC offers custom spring rates, Swift springs, and custom valving. So you can run them right out of the box dialed in for this chassis, or you can build them out exactly how you want. That's the kind of flexibility BC Racing's known for.
