APR Performance Carbon Fiber Radiator Cooling Plate - 2000-2009 Honda S2000
There's a structural gap above the radiator where cooling air escapes instead of passing through the core, which makes the radiator less efficient than it could be. This APR carbon plate closes that gap and channels incoming air straight into the radiator, so more of the air hitting the front of the car actually does cooling work. It improves radiator efficiency where it matters, on track, and finishes the S2000's engine bay in real pre-preg carbon while it's at it.
It Actually Helps The Radiator Work
Worth understanding, because this is a functional part, not just dress-up carbon.
Air hits the front of the car and should pass through the radiator core to shed heat. But the gap above the radiator lets a lot of that air spill up and over instead of through, so the radiator never sees air it could have used.
This plate seals that gap and channels the air directly into the core. More air through the radiator means better heat rejection, which on an S2000 being driven hard, an engine that revs to 9,000 and makes real heat on track, translates into more consistent temperatures during a session. That's the difference between coolant temps you watch nervously and temps that stay where they belong.
Stock Radiator Version
Important to note, so you order the right plate.
This is the plate for the stock S2000 radiator setup. It is not the version with the opening for a Spoon intake arm.
If you're running a Spoon intake arm or a setup that needs that clearance, this isn't the plate for you, you'd need the version cut for it. For a stock or standard radiator and intake setup, this is the correct one. Confirm your setup before ordering.
Pre-Preg Carbon That Takes The Heat
The material matters here specifically, because this lives in the hottest part of the car.
It's made with the pre-preg carbon fiber process, autoclave-cured under high heat and pressure, which produces a part durable enough to withstand elevated engine bay temperatures rather than warping or degrading. An engine bay panel has to survive heat that would deform lesser carbon.
The finish is a fade-resistant epoxy coating chosen specifically to resist high engine bay heat, so the carbon holds its appearance rather than yellowing or dulling from the temperatures it sits in. Between the pre-preg construction and the heat-resistant coating, it's built for where it lives.
Easy, Factory-Spec Installation
The plate is designed to factory specifications, so it fits cleanly where it's meant to with a proper finish and no fettling. It's a straightforward install that both improves airflow to the radiator and dresses the bay, with no fabrication for the stock setup.
Fitment
2000-2009 Honda S2000 (AP1 and AP2)
For the stock radiator setup. Not the version with the Spoon intake arm opening.
Who Should Grab This
This is for the S2000 owner who tracks the car or just wants the radiator working as efficiently as it can, and who'd like the engine bay finished in real carbon at the same time. Channels air into the radiator for better cooling, pre-preg carbon that survives the heat, and a fade-resistant finish. Confirm you're on the stock radiator setup, fit
