They Actually Do Something
Worth understanding, because fender vents get dismissed as styling when on this car they're not.
Your front wheels spinning inside their wells build up high-pressure air with nowhere to go. That trapped pressure creates lift and traps heat, both of which work against you, lift lightens the front end, and heat has to escape from your brakes and engine bay somewhere.
Fender vents give that pressure a path out. Relieving it reduces front-end lift at speed and helps pull hot air away from the brakes, radiator, and engine bay. On a car that gets tracked as hard as the FK8, both matter: less lift means a more planted front end, and better heat extraction means brakes and coolant that hold up longer in a session.
Honda built the factory vents functional for exactly these reasons. APR's replace them with the same function in a better material.

UV-Resistant Finish, But Care For It
The vents are finished with a UV-resistant clear coat to hold up against sun and weather.
Worth being straight, though: exterior carbon needs the same care as your paint. Keep it clean and protect it with a quality wax or synthetic sealant a couple of times a year. Do that and it stays looking right for years. Neglect it, and like any clear-coated finish in the sun, it'll dull over time. The UV coating buys you protection; upkeep is what makes it last.
