PRODUCT DETAILS
AEM DryFlow Honda Civic Air Filter (1.5T)
Your 10th-gen Civic 1.5T uses a paper engine air filter in the factory airbox. When that filter is dirty the car feels lazy off idle, and this washable honda civic air filter drops in the same box.
AEM 28-50044 is the DryFlow stock-replacement panel for that factory 1.5T airbox. One oil-free engine filter in the package. You wash it and put it back. No cutting. The factory lid stays on.
What It Is and Why It Works
Honda put a disposable paper element in this 1.5T airbox. You pull it at the service interval, toss it, and close the lid. AEM builds DryFlow as oil-free synthetic media, so you get a panel you can clean and reuse without putting oil near the MAF. We like this one for a stock-boxed 1.5T that just needs a clean element.
In the stock box this is a keep-the-car-running part, and it is a good one. You will not get a dyno number. The airbox and the snorkel are still the restriction. If this Civic lives on gravel or a dusty commute, keep paper in the trunk and change it often. That is the one case we would stay on paper.

Factory engine airbox only, 1.5T only. Official AEM application is Honda Civic / CR-V L4-1.5L F/I. Sedan and coupe 1.5T is L15B7. Hatch 1.5T is L15BA. CR-V 1.5T is L15BE. Walk the year on Sport. 2017-2019 Sport sedan and coupe are 1.5T and take this panel. 2020-2021 Sport sedan and coupe went 2.0. That is AEM 28-50045, Honda 17220-5BA-A00, 9.281 x 7.219 x 1.5 in. Sport hatch stays 1.5T through 2021. Hatch LX is 1.5T and takes this panel. Sedan and coupe LX are 2.0. A 2016 EX sedan is 2.0. EX-T is the 1.5T that year. CR-V 2017-2019 LX is 2.4. CR-V 2020-2022 LX is 1.5T. It does not fit Civic Type R FK8 or FL5. It does not fit a CR-V Hybrid. It does not fit an 11th-gen Civic (2022+) or a 2022+ Civic Si. If you are not sure what you are holding, measure it: 8.9 by 5.4 inches is this filter. 9.3 by 7.2 inches is the 2.0 panel.
What to Know Before You Buy
AEM says DryFlow is washable and does not take oil. Use AEM 1-1000, the 32 oz DryFlow spray. Tap the loose dirt off, spray both sides with most of it on the dirty face, let it soak ten minutes, then rinse from the clean side out with cool or warm water until it runs clear. Let it air dry. Do not wring it. Do not bake it. Do not put oil on it. K&N oil is the wrong bottle for this media.
While you are in there, worth a look at the lid seal and the PCV hose that dumps into this airbox. A crushed gasket or a soaked PCV elbow is why people swear a new filter did nothing.
Confirm the engine before you order. Hatch LX is 1.5T. Sedan LX is 2.0. 2020-2021 Sport sedan went 2.0. If the factory box is already gone for an AEM 21-798C intake, buy the conical that kit calls for. And if you just want another Honda paper at the next oil change, paper is never the wrong answer.
