AEM Polished Short Ram Intake 22-508P for Civic Si

AEM 22-508P replaces the factory airbox on your 2002-2005 Honda Civic Si 2.0L with a short aluminum intake tube and an oil-free Dryflow filter. You're getting the polished version here, with a chrome-like appearance. Your stock IAT sensor and breather hoses stay with the car.

Choose the Layout Before the Install

A short ram leaves the filter under the hood. If your plan is to move the filter outside the engine compartment, start with a cold-air kit for your Si instead. Buying the polished finish won't change the routing:22-508P is still the short-ram layout.

The filter is washable synthetic media, not an oiled element. After cleaning and drying it, its ready to be reinstalled. AEM specifies replacement filter 21-201DK for this intake, with a 2.5-inch connection and nominal 5-inch element length.

Fitment

The application here is the 2.0L Si, with its original intake connections. Don't assume the same fit if you've changed the engine or throttle body. You'll also need to check emissions-exemption coverage against your specific car before ordering.

Included hardware

Your factory sensor and hoses stay

You don't need to buy an IAT sensor with this kit. Take the original sensor out of the stock tube and fit it into the new grommet, then plug its harness back in. AEM puts nipples on the pipe for your factory breather hoses. Save the intake-cover bolts, too; you'll use them when the cover goes back on.

Once the airbox is removed, its mounting stud takes the supplied aluminum spacer. The pipe bracket goes over that spacer, held by AEM's washer and serrated nut. Don't lock the clamps down yet. Adjust the assembly until it clears the nearby parts and the underside of the hood, then tighten it in position.

Use the 22-508 installation instructions for the removal sequence, connections and final inspection. Keep the stock airbox and tube if you want the option to return the car to its original intake.
