Progress Technology Rear Sway Bar - 2006-2015 Honda Civic & 2013-2015 Acura ILX

Feel your Civic or ILX push wide and wash out the front end every time you lean into a corner? That's not you, that's the factory setup. Honda tunes these cars to understeer on purpose, and it makes them feel dull and safe instead of sharp. A stiffer rear sway bar is the fix, and honestly it's the best bang-for-buck handling mod you can bolt to one of these. This Progress Technology rear bar cuts the body roll and, more importantly, wakes the car up so it actually rotates and turns in like you want it to.

What A Rear Bar Actually Does For You

Here's the magic of it. A bigger rear sway bar does two things at once. First, it fights body roll, so your car stays flatter through a corner and your tires stay planted with a better contact patch on the pavement, which means more grip and more confidence when you're pushing. Second, and this is the good part, adding rear stiffness dials out that nose-heavy understeer these cars come with from the factory. Instead of plowing straight when you turn in, the back end comes around with you and the car rotates, so it feels balanced, eager, and way more fun to drive hard. Pair that with the switch from soft factory rubber to Progress Tech's polyurethane bushings, and everything tightens up and responds right now instead of a beat late.

Pick Your Bar: 22mm Or 24mm Adjustable

You've got two ways to go here, so pick the one that matches how you drive:

  • 22mm, non-adjustable. This is a solid, set-and-forget upgrade. It's a good jump in rear stiffness over stock, so you get noticeably flatter cornering and less understeer without any tuning to think about. Bolt it on, enjoy the sharper car, done. Great if you want better handling on the street without fiddling.
  • 24mm, adjustable (3 settings). This one's thicker for even more rear stiffness, and it gives you 3 adjustable settings so you can tune the balance to your taste. Run it milder for a streetable setup, or crank it to the stiff setting for maximum rotation when you're carving canyons or hitting an autocross. It's the pick if you want to dial in exactly how much the rear rotates, and it comes with adjustable end links so you can set it up right.

Quick tuning note on the adjustable bar: the stiffer you set it, the more the rear rotates and the more you cut understeer, right up toward playful oversteer at the aggressive end. Start milder and work your way stiffer until the balance feels right for you.

Built Right, Made In The USA

Progress Tech doesn't cut corners on these. They swap your smaller OE bar for a larger-diameter alloy steel bar, cold-formed on their own precision CNC bending equipment, with laser-cut or machined ends MIG-welded in fixtures so everything lines up for an exact fit. The whole thing is developed and built in-house and proudly made in the USA, so you're getting a bar that's engineered to fit and hold up, not a generic bent-up tube.

Everything To Bolt It On

This is a straightforward bolt-on, and it comes with what you need to do the job: new sway bar bushings, mounts, and the installation hardware. So you're not sourcing bushings separately or reusing tired old mounts, you've got a complete kit to get the bar on and dialed.

Note: Progress Technology rear sway bar for the 2006-2015 Honda Civic (DX, EX, LX), 2006-2015 Honda Civic Si, and 2013-2015 Acura ILX. Available in two diameters: a 22mm non-adjustable bar and a 24mm adjustable bar with 3 settings (the 24mm bar includes adjustable end links). A larger rear sway bar reduces body roll, keeps the tires flatter and better planted, and reduces the factory understeer common to late-model cars, improving chassis balance and rotation. Replaces the smaller OE bar and soft rubber bushings with a larger-diameter alloy steel bar and polyurethane bushings. Cold-formed on precision CNC bending equipment with laser-cut or machined ends MIG-welded for an exact fit, developed and manufactured in-house and made in the USA. Bolt-on installation; includes new sway bar bushings, mounts, and installation hardware. One sway bar per order.
