PRODUCT DETAILS

Genuine Honda Timing Chain Tensioner Cover (11412-PNA-000) - K-Series

This is the genuine Honda cover that sits over the timing chain tensioner on the K-series, and the reason most people need one is simple: it's thin sheet metal, and it bends easily. Pull it off for a tensioner or timing job, or just handle it wrong, and it can tweak or crease, and a bent cover doesn't seal flat against the block the way it should. Rather than reinstalling a bent one, drop in a fresh genuine cover. It fits most pre-2012 K-series engines.

Why You're Probably Here

The tensioner cover is a stamped piece of thin sheet metal, which keeps it light and cheap but makes it easy to deform. It bends if it gets pried on during removal, if something leans on it, or just from age and handling on a car that's been worked on before. Once it's bent, the sealing surface isn't flat, so it can weep oil or not sit right.

Since it's a genuine Honda part and inexpensive, replacing a bent or questionable cover with a fresh one is the easy call, no straightening a creased piece of sheet metal and hoping it seals. Fit a new one and it sits flat and seals the way it's supposed to.

Do It While You're In There

If you're already doing work around the timing chain, replacing the chain tensioner, or anything that has this cover off, it's worth putting a fresh one back on rather than reusing the old one, especially if the old one shows any bending. It's a cheap part to have on hand during that kind of job so you're not reinstalling a tired, possibly-tweaked cover on an otherwise fresh repair.

Note: Bolts Not Included

This is the cover only, the mounting bolts aren't included. If your originals are good, reuse them; if they're corroded or missing, source them separately so you're not held up on install.
