Insane Shafts 1000HP B-Series Axles - EF/EG/EK Civic, CRX, Del Sol & Integra
When you're making real B-series power, the factory axles become the weak link, and a snapped axle at the track ends your day and can take other parts with it. Insane Shafts' 1000HP axles are built for that level of power: chromoly steel through a proprietary heat treatment and cryogenic process, real-world tested to handle up to 1000 wheel horsepower on or off the track. This is the top of their range, sold as a complete left and right pair.
Rated For 1000 Wheel Horsepower
The headline, and it's a real-world number rather than a theoretical one.
These are tested and proven to handle up to 1000 wheel horsepower in extreme conditions. That's genuine big-power territory, the kind of output where every driveline component has to be up to the task or it becomes the failure point.
On a heavily built B-series, whether that's a big turbo setup or an all-motor drag car, the axles have to transmit everything the engine makes to the ground through the abuse of hard launches and track use. These are built to take it, so the axle stops being something you worry about.
How They're Made Strong
The construction is where the strength comes from, and it's a multi-step process.
The axles start as chromoly steel, which is considerably stronger than the standard steel in factory axles. From there they go through Insane Shafts' proprietary annealing and heat treatment process, then get cryogenically treated.
Cryo treatment matters here. Taking the metal to extreme low temperatures refines its grain structure at a molecular level, relieving internal stresses and increasing strength and fatigue resistance. On an axle that sees violent, repeated shock loading every launch, that fatigue resistance is what determines whether it survives long-term or eventually cracks. It's the difference between an axle that's strong once and one that stays strong.
Confirm Your Setup: Hydraulic, Male Intermediate
The fitment detail that matters most, so check it before ordering.
This set is for the B-series hydraulic transmission and uses a B-series hydraulic male intermediate shaft. That's the spec your car needs to match for these to fit.
If your setup uses a cable transmission or a female intermediate shaft, this isn't the correct set, the intermediate shaft engagement won't match. B-series transmissions come in both hydraulic and cable versions, and getting this right is the difference between a bolt-in and a return. Confirm you're running the hydraulic trans before ordering.
Fits The Swapped Chassis
Built for the classic B-series swap platforms.
These cover the 88-2000 Civic, CRX, and Del Sol (EF, EG, EK) and the 90-2001 Integra (DA, DC) with a B-series swap, running B16, B18, or B20. That's the core of what people build B-series power in, and it's the same chassis family the rest of the serious B-series driveline is built around.
Insane Shafts also handles custom applications, so if your setup is unusual, they can advise rather than leaving you to guess.
Includes ABS Rings And Spindle Nuts
The details that make it a complete install.
All Insane Shafts axles include removable ABS rings where applicable, so if your car uses ABS, you're covered, and if it doesn't, they come off. New 32mm spindle nuts are included too, which is the right way to do it, since spindle nuts are a one-time-use torque-to-yield item that shouldn't be reused.
That means you're not sourcing those separately or reusing old hardware on a high-power build where everything needs to be right.
