Hybrid Racing K-Swap Conversion Harness - 2001-2005 Honda Civic (EM2 / ES1)
Wiring is the part of a K-swap that stops people, and it's the part this solves. With over ten years of K-series swap experience behind it, this conversion harness is one of the most widely used on the market, and it's wired thousands of swaps worldwide. If you're putting a K-series into an EM2 coupe or ES1 sedan, this turns the most intimidating step into plug-and-play.
What A Conversion Harness Actually Does
Worth being clear, because these terms get mixed up and it matters when you're buying. Your engine harness is the one that lives on the motor. This conversion harness is the bridge between that engine harness, your K-series ECU, and your Civic's factory chassis wiring, letting an engine your car never came with talk to it properly. It's the translator in the middle, and getting it right is the difference between a clean first start and months of chasing gremlins.
Why This One Over The Alternatives
Here's what separates us from other companies in this space. Our conversion harness ships fully assembled and in stock, ready to go out the door, often with overnight shipping available. You're not mailing in part of your factory harness and waiting weeks for it to come back modified. No core required.
It plugs directly into your factory dash harness, your OEM K-series engine harness, and your K-series ECU, and it keeps full functionality of your factory gauge cluster. It also comes with a full replacement warranty and real tech support, so if something doesn't make sense mid-swap, there's someone on the other end who knows these harnesses.
Built To Not Cause Problems Later
A conversion harness is not the place to cut corners, because bad wiring haunts a build for years. Every harness is built with brand-new connectors, terminals, and wire sourced from the same manufacturer Honda uses. Each one is machine-made for consistency and then checked by a human before it ships. There are no soldered joints anywhere, and every wire is clearly labeled, so your install stays organized and you're never guessing what goes where.
Check Your Engine Harness Before Ordering
Compatibility comes down to what's on your motor, not what's in your car. Here's exactly what works:
- Works with USDM and JDM 02-04 K-series engine harnesses, including K20A, K20A2, and K20A3
- Wired for the factory wideband O2 sensor. European customers running UKDM harnesses may need to convert to narrowband
- Does not work with 05-06 or K24 engine harnesses and ECUs
That last one is the important one. If you've sourced an 05-06 or a K24 engine harness and ECU, this isn't the right harness, so confirm what you've actually got in hand before ordering.
The EM2 Is An Underrated Swap Platform
The 7th gen doesn't get the attention the EG and EK do, which is exactly why it's worth building. These are cheap, plentiful, and structurally solid, and a K-series transforms one completely. You end up with something quick that nobody expects, for less than the equivalent EG or EK build costs these days. The wiring is one of the bigger hurdles on this chassis, and this is how you clear it.

Who Should Run This Harness
This is for anyone K-swapping an EM2 or ES1 who wants the wiring handled properly instead of improvised. First swap and the electrical side has you nervous, or tenth swap and you just want a clean harness that shows up ready to plug in. Confirm your engine harness year, plug it in, and get back to the fun part of the build.
