Competition Clutch Rigid Twin Disc (K20A2/A3/Z1/Z3) COC-4-8037C
The Competition Clutch Rigid Twin Disc is for K-series cars that are way past what a single disc can hang with. If you’re putting serious power through a K20A2, K20A3, K20Z1, or K20Z3 and need a real Racing Clutch K20Z1 or Twin Disc Clutch K20A2, this is the kind of setup you run in a legit race car, not a lightly-bolted street build. It fits right in on a high-rev road race engine, a big-turbo street/strip car, or a track-only monster that lives at redline.
This High Performance Clutch Acura setup uses a ceramic twin disc, a 4140 forged steel flywheel, a lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum cover, and a 6150 diaphragm spring. Together, that combo keeps clamping force and heat control under you when you’re doing hard launches and back-to-back pulls. In the right chassis, you’re in the Competition Clutch 800 torque ballpark and roughly 500–1200 hp depending on the rest of the package, which makes this one of the more honest, cost-effective twin options for serious K builds.
Is This the Right Twin Disc for Your K-Series?
- Your setup actually hurts drivetrains big turbo K, high-compression N/A, nitrous, or anything that shreds a normal Honda Civic Performance Clutch or Acura RSX Type-S Clutch.
- You drive it hard drag launches, roll racing, or long sessions where a lesser Race Clutch for Honda Civic starts slipping once everything’s heat soaked.
- You want a sharp, positive engagement and confident high-RPM shifts without wondering if the disc will hang up.
- You’re on real tire drag radials, slicks, or R-comps that expose weak links long before they spin.
- You’d rather have a rigid hub so you don’t deal with the fragility of springs at high torque and shock loads.
If your car is lightly-modded, mostly street, and you care more about low-speed manners than raw bite, this isn’t the move. A street-friendly Racing Clutch for Civic Si, Acura RSX Racing Clutch, or milder Clutch for Civic Type R will keep you happier in traffic. This twin is honest about what it is: more race than comfort.
Built Around Real Track Use
The rigid hub and ceramic material give you the heat resistance and repeatable engagement you need when everything’s cooking. The twin discs and 4140 flywheel trim rotational mass compared to many heavy “street/strip” single-disc kits, so your K revs faster and drops revs cleaner between gears. You’ll feel it most on close-ratio gearboxes in RSX and Civic platforms where every shift window is tight.
If you’re building a serious Competition Clutch K20A3 or K20Z car and living at the top of the tach, this Competition Clutch Rigid Twin Disc gives you the strength and consistency you need without the silly price tag you see on some multi-disc setups. It’s the kind of High Torque Competition Clutch you run in a real Twin Disc Kit for Civic or Acura RSX Twin Disc build the stuff you don’t have to baby. We use this same style of Race Clutch for Honda Civic and K-series track cars when we want something that just holds and keeps holding.
