PRODUCT DETAILS

Innovative Billet Transmission Mount - 1996-2000 Honda Civic (Passenger Side)

The factory transmission mount on the EK Civic is soft rubber, and it lets the drivetrain move under load, which shows up as wheel hop, clunk on shifts, and vague power delivery. This Innovative billet mount replaces it with CNC-machined 6061 aluminum and polyurethane, locking the transmission down so your inputs go to the wheels instead of into drivetrain movement. It's the passenger-side mount, for B and D-series engines, with selectable stiffness to match how you drive.

What A Soft Mount Costs You

Worth understanding, because it's the reason to upgrade.

The transmission mount is one of the points holding your drivetrain in place, and Honda made it soft rubber for comfort and noise isolation. The downside is that soft rubber lets the engine and transmission rock under acceleration and deceleration.

That movement is what you feel as wheel hop on a hard launch, a clunk when you get on or off the throttle, and power delivery that feels a beat behind your foot. On a car being driven hard, that drivetrain slop robs you of the direct connection between throttle and wheels that makes a car feel sharp. Worn factory mounts on a 20-plus-year-old EK are usually well past their best, making it worse.

Billet Aluminum Locks It Down

The upgrade solves the movement directly.

This mount is CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum with polyurethane bushings, far more rigid than the factory rubber. It holds the transmission firmly in position instead of letting it rock, so acceleration and deceleration inputs translate directly to the drivetrain rather than being absorbed by mount flex.

The result is reduced wheel hop, crisper shifts, and more immediate power delivery. And unlike rubber, the aluminum and poly don't degrade and soften over time, so it holds that firmness for good rather than going vague again in a few years.

Choose Your Durometer

The mount comes with selectable urethane stiffness, and it's a genuine choice worth making deliberately.

A softer durometer firms up the drivetrain over stock while keeping more comfort and less vibration, the better pick for a daily-driven EK where you don't want excess NVH. A firmer durometer locates the drivetrain more rigidly for maximum response and minimum movement, better for a track or high-performance build, at the cost of more transmitted vibration.

Pick based on your car: softer for a street daily, firmer for a build where response is the priority. Both are a real improvement over the worn factory mount.

Expect Some Added Vibration

Being straight about the tradeoff.

Firmly locating the transmission transmits a little more vibration into the chassis than the isolating factory rubber did, more with a firmer durometer, less with a softer one. Innovative's no-tear bushings are designed to minimize that, so it's a modest increase rather than a harsh one.

On a car you're building to drive, most owners consider that added feedback a fair trade, or a positive, for the sharper response. It's the drivetrain talking to you rather than harshness for its own sake, and your durometer choice sets exactly where you land on that scale.

Built To Last

CNC-machined 6061 aluminum, CAD/CAM designed and stress-analyzed for a precise fit and real strength, with Innovative's no-tear vibration-minimizing bushings. It's backed by a lifetime warranty, which is Innovative's statement of confidence in a mount that takes real drivetrain load. Whether you're replacing a worn factory mount or upgrading for performance, it's built to be the last one you fit.

Fitment

1996-2000 Honda Civic (EK)

Passenger-side transmission mount, B and D-series engines. Available in selectable urethane durometer.

Who Should Grab This

This is for the EK owner who wants sharper power delivery and less wheel hop, and for anyone whose factory mount is worn and letting the drivetrain move around. Billet aluminum and poly that locks the transmission down, selectable stiffness to match daily or track use, and a lifetime warranty. Pick your durometer, bolt it in, and connect the throttle to the wheels the way it should be.

Fits: 1996-2000 Honda Civic (EK), B and D-series engines. Position: passenger-side
