The end of the season is here, and for our final round of the year, we’re heading west to one of the most iconic tracks in the country: Laguna Seca Raceway.
After narrowly missing the championship title by just one point, our focus for this final event shifts a little. Of course, we still want to be competitive and finish the season on a high note, but Laguna Seca also gives us an opportunity to experience something completely new. We’ll be racing on a track we’ve never competed at before, alongside some of the best drivers and cars from the West Coast.
That makes this weekend about more than just results.
With our 2027 Super Touring Accord project already underway, we want to use every opportunity we can to learn. Laguna Seca presents a completely different set of challenges compared to the tracks we’ve raced throughout the season, giving us another chance to gather valuable setup, suspension, tire, and vehicle data. While the Accord will be a very different car, there is still plenty we can learn from the Super Touring Sedan that could help guide development as we prepare for the next chapter of our racing program.
It’s also a chance to bring the Sedan somewhere completely new. We’ve spent years racing this car throughout the Midwest and East Coast, but many of the people we’ll meet in California have never had the opportunity to see it in person. We’re looking forward to meeting new racers, fans, and Honda enthusiasts, showing off what we’ve built, and getting a taste of the West Coast racing community.
This weekend will also be a bittersweet one, as Laguna Seca is planned to be the final competitive event for the Super Touring Sedan. This car has been an enormous part of our racing program and has helped us learn, develop products, test ideas, win races, and compete for championships. It has given us countless great memories, and it deserves one more opportunity to stretch its legs at a track as special as Laguna Seca.
We’ll be sad to see the Sedan retire, but we’re equally excited about what comes next. The lessons we’ve learned with this car will carry directly into our future projects, and the 2027 Super Touring Accord represents the next evolution of what we want to accomplish on track.
For now, though, the Accord can wait.
We’ve got one more race weekend with the Sedan, one legendary track left to conquer, and one last opportunity to send this car off the right way.
